Barnsley manager Simon Davey is confident he has a squad that can compete on all fronts this season.
The Reds lost 2-1 against QPR on the opening day in the Championship and play Crewe on Tuesday.
Davey has completed his summer signing after strengthening in every position and is "happy with what I've got".
He told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We've brought six in so the squad is more competitive. I believe it's a lot stronger than last season."
The new faces to arrive at Oakwell are strikers Maceo Rigters and Iain Hulme, midfielders Mounir El Haimour and Hugo Collace and experienced defender Darren Moore, while goalkeeper Luke Steele joined on a permanent deal from West Brom following an impressive loan spell last season.
