Moore was Derby's player of the year last season

Barnsley have signed Darren Moore from Championship rivals Derby County.

The 34-year-old defender has signed a two-year deal at Oakwell after being told his services were no longer required at Pride Park.

Moore has won Championship promotion four times in his career and was being chased by a number of clubs.

"We wanted to increase competition at the back and have brought in a player with a proven pedigree," manager Simon Davy told the club's website.
