Ritchie is being given the chance to decide on the length of a new deal |
Barnsley chairman Gordon Shepherd says that is up to manager Andy Ritchie how long he stays at Oakwell. Ritchie will be out of contract out at the end of the season and has opened negotiations with the Tykes.
Shepherd told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Andy wants to get it sorted out just like everybody else. We are discussing the length of the deal he'd require.
"He can have a two or three year deal, it is up to him. As soon as his agent rings me we can sort something out."
