Barnsley's players celebrate after their play-off success |
Barnsley have offered new contracts to seven of their play-off-winning squad. Paul Reid, Nick Colgan, Antony Kay, Stephen McPhail, Bobby Hassell, Neil Austin and Chris Shuker are all out of contract, but have been offered deals.
However, defender Matt Carbon, 30, has been released, as has striker Barry Conlon, 27 - who has already agreed to rejoin former club Darlington.
Meanwhile, youngsters Ryan Laight, Thomas Harban and Robert Atkinson have all agreed new contracts at Oakwell.
The Tykes are waiting to see whether fellow academy graduate Simon Heslop will accept the two-year deal that has been offered to him.
But Tom Beevor, Jonathan Loukes, Stefan Holt and Rhys Meynell have all agreed one-year extensions to their scholarships.
New arrivals at the academy, all on two-year agreements, are Jacob Butterfield, Greg McGrory, Ryan Jennings, Daniel Smith, Luke Fedorekno, Luke Waterfall, Jacob White and Mark Devonshire.
