Midson joined Oxford from Histon in May 2009

Barnet have signed Oxford United striker Jack Midson on loan for the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old is out of contract with the U's in the summer and boss Chris Wilder has already intimated that he is unlikely to be offered a new deal.

The former Stevenage player has already been on loan at Southend this season, scoring twice in four games.

Midson, who signed for Oxford in May 2009 after a prolific spell at Histon, scored 10 goals in 58 games.

Meanwhile, United have confirmed that midfielder Simon Clist is also available for a loan deal.

And full-backs Steve Kinniburgh and Ben Purkiss have been told they can leave the club on loan and are free to join another club permanently when the main transfer window re-opens.
