Barnet have signed Chester midfielder Mark Hughes until the end of the season and Colchester United left-back Matt Lockwood on a one-month loan.
Hughes, 24, made 43 appearances and scored four goals for Chester after joining in the summer of 2007 but left the Deva Stadium at the weekend.
Lockwood, 32, is best known for his spell at Leyton Orient, where he made 328 appearances and scored 50 goals.
Meanwhile the Bees have released winger Tommy Black after five appearances.
Black, 29, joined Barnet at the start of January and played in every game during that month.
The former Arsenal and Crystal Palace player left the club just hours after the birth of his daughter.
Bees manager Ian Hendon told the club's website: "We offer our congratulations to Tommy on becoming a dad again and thank him for his efforts."
