Beckwith has decided to call time on his short career in football
Barnet goalkeeper Rob Beckwith has turned his back on football after he was offered out on loan by the League Two club.
The 24-year-old joined the Bees last season after playing for Luton Town and then Chesterfield on loan.
He was one of four players made available for emergency loans.
Beckwith told the club website: "I've just not got the heart for it anymore. I don't see the point in going through the motions, I don't enjoy it."
Beckwith, who made 17 appearances for Barnet, thanked club captain and goalkeeping coach Lee Harrison, chairman Tony Kleanthous and supporters for backing him during his time at Underhill.
"I've had a lot of knockbacks in my time but this has nothing to do with injury," he added.
Beckwith had been tipped for the top and linked with a move to Arsenal when he was at Luton, but was plagued with injuries during his time at Kenilworth Road.
