Kevin James made a successful start to his emergency loan deal with Ayr United, helping the Honest Men to a 5-0 home win against struggling Stranraer.
The St Johnstone skipper has agreed a 28-day move to Somerset Park in a bid to regain match sharpness.
The 33-year-old defender has been dogged with injuries this season and has started just five Saints matches.
James, who moved to McDiarmid Park from Falkirk in 2005, played for the full 90 minutes on Saturday.
