Defender Eric Lichaj signs three-year Aston Villa deal
Lichaj played nine games on loan at Leyton Orient last season
Aston Villa defender Eric Lichaj has signed a new three-year contract at Villa Park.
The 21-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance for Villa but played six games on loan at Lincoln and nine games at Leyton Orient last term.
The right-back was signed by Villa in 2007 after impressing while playing for the United States under-17 team.
"I am delighted. I now have a better opportunity to get into the first team," Lichaj told Villa's website.
Lichaj scored his first senior goal for Leyton Orient against Stockport last season and after signing his new deal the United States defender has targeted international recognition.
"Hopefully when I start playing here I can get into the USA team. That would be nice," Lichaj said.
