Aston Villa have given young striker Andreas Weimann a contract extension through to the summer of 2012.

The 18-year old Austrian is yet to play a competitive first team game, but did feature in the club's pre-season Peace Cup triumph in southern Spain.

He also scored in the 3-0 friendly win at Peterborough prior to the start of the current campaign.

Weimann has found the net five times for Villa's reserves this season, including two against Birmingham City.

He was also on target for Austria's under-21s in their European Championship qualifying victory over Scotland in September.
