Sam Allardyce's Rovers lost 3-1 to Villa in the FA Cup on Saturday
The first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final between Blackburn and Aston Villa has been postponed because of the freezing weather conditions.
Rovers' Ewood Park pitch was playable, but police advised that the game should be called off as travelling conditions for both sets of supporters was unsafe.
A new date for the rearranged game will follow in due course.
"It would be unadvisable to expect fans and staff to attempt to get to the match," said a Blackburn statement.
"Even if fans are able to get to Ewood Park we would not like to speculate on what type of journey home they may face at 2200 GMT when temperatures will be sub-zero.
"The weather forecast states we can expect more snow and freezing temperatures in Lancashire and that heavy snow is expected in the Midlands later and will continue into the early hours of Wednesday.
"The decision was taken in conjunction with the police and following consultation with the Football League."
