Reo-Coker signed for Villa from West Ham for about 7.5m
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has consigned his training-ground spat with Nigel Reo-Coker to history, saying he is "too old to start holding grudges".
The pair disagreed during a training session in September, which led to Reo-Coker being sent home and dropped.
But Reo-Coker has since returned to the Villa line-up and captained the side in Saturday's 5-1 victory over Bolton.
"There isn't, as far as I am concerned, anything to take on into the future again," said the 57-year-old.
"Was it an excellent piece of man-management? I'm too old to start holding grudges now.
"Perhaps, when I was at Nigel's age, I probably would have done. But I'm too old and, for the benefit of the team, it's not that important."
The opportunity arose to put him into the side and, as I said, he might as well take the extra responsibility

Back in September, the Villa manager admitted he had had a "strong verbal disagreement" with the midfielder while they were training for the Premier League game with Portsmouth on 19 September.
However, despite the "contretemps" O'Neill said he had no hesitation in naming the former West Ham player as skipper in the absence of the injured Stiliyan Petrov.
"I thought that Nigel should receive the armband. He's been captain before when Stiliyan Petrov missed out and when other people have," said O'Neill.
"I felt, if he's going into the side, he might as well burden himself with the extra responsibility as captain as well, and I thought he acquitted himself really well.
"The opportunity arose to put him into the side and, as I said, he might as well take the extra responsibility.
"What will be, will be, like everything else, but I just want players to come in here and give everything for this football club and try and win games in this league because it's hard for us."
