Osbourne played against Spurs on Boxing Day |
Teenage midfielder Isaiah Osbourne has agreed terms with Aston Villa on a new three-and-a-half-year contract. Villa manager Martin O'Neill has been keen to secure the 19-year-old on a long-term deal after he broke into the first-team squad this season.
Osbourne made his debut in the draw with Fulham in October and has gone on to make nine appearances.
"There is no doubt that Isaiah has got potential," said O'Neill. "I'm very pleased with the way he has played."
The deal will keep Osbourne at Villa Park until the summer of 2010.
The 19-year-old is the latest member of Villa's Academy to break into the senior squad after the likes of Steven Davis, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Luke Moore and Liam Ridgewell.
"His whole approach to the game is so refreshing and he's got really natural ability which is encouraging," added O'Neill.
