Aston Villa have appointed Bruce Langham as their new chief executive. Langham takes over from Villa chairman Doug Ellis who will relinquish the chief executive's role.
The 52-year-old Langham spent two years as Fulham's chief executive and will officially take over the role on 10 May.
Ellis said on Villa's official website: "Bruce brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and his approach will provide a fresh impetus."
Langham has a solid business background, including 20 years with British Airways before moving into the communications industry.
He is credited with turning Fulham's financial fortunes around and played an influential role in Chris Coleman's appointment as manager.
Langham's appointment ends Villa's four-month search for a new chief executive following Ellis' decision last November.
Ellis added on Villa's website: "Throughout the last four months we have made an exhaustive search to fill a role we publicly committed to last November.
"The search has involved the services of a highly regarded recruitment company. Bruce was top of their original list and remained the outstanding candidate throughout the process."
Former Leeds chief executive Trevor Birch had been strongly linked with the Aston Villa post.
