Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will assess Sol Campbell in training before making a decision about whether the defender will face Bolton on Saturday. The 31-year-old returned to training on Monday after lying low for four days following a poor display during the 3-2 defeat by West Ham on 1 February.
Wenger said: "Sol has regrouped, he was away but has come back refreshed and willing to do well for us.
"I will see how he is in training. If he is OK he will play."
The England centre-half left Highbury at half-time after being substituted in the defeat by West Ham - but Wenger did not condemn the move.
He put Campbell's early departure down to "exceptional circumstances" and said that he was going through a "difficult period" in his life.
Campbell missed the Gunners' 2-0 win over Birmingham at the weekend but released a statement insisting he had no major problems and was ready to return.
The Gunners will be keen to gain revenge over Bolton, who knocked the London side out of the FA Cup on 28 January.
Wenger added: "Sol is determined to help the team as well as he can.
"We need Sol's experience, his desire and strength and he is all right. He is back and focused."
