Ngo Baheng was brought to Newcastle by Dennis Wise
Aldershot Town have signed former Newcastle striker Wesley Ngo Baheng on a short-term deal until January.
The French 21-year-old was released by the Magpies in the summer without making a first team appearance, and was on trial at Gateshead this month.
He told BBC Surrey: "I can't wait until I start playing. It's a League Two club and it's a huge opportunity.
"I haven't been lucky in the last few years but I don't want to look back and cry. I want to look forward."
Ngo Baheng joined Newcastle from French side Le Havre in January 2008, but he spent 18 months on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury.
He added: "I'm really looking forward to starting playing. It's November so I'm a bit late fitness-wise but hopefully I'll get going as soon as possible.
"I'll try my best to score, please the fans and get the team higher in the table."
Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon said: "He had an opportunity to go to Nuremburg but he wanted to stay in England.
"We got him down for training and I really liked what I saw.
