New Aldershot Town defender Adam Hinshelwood has been named as club captain, with fellow new signing John Halls appointed as vice captain.
Hinshelwood, 25, who joined from Brighton last month, will lead the Shots during the 2009/10 season.
Manager Gary Waddock told BBC Surrey: "Hinsh has been captain before at his previous club and he's a good, solid all-round player.
"He's extremely professional in training and respected by everybody."
Waddock added: "Halls is another experienced player who is respected by the group."
Hinshelwood is delighted to have been selected to lead the Shots after only a short period with the club.
"It's a great feeling, the gaffer called me last week and told me he was considering me for that role, I said I was up for it and I'm obviously pleased," said Hinshelwood.
"I was a little bit surprised, I've only been here about four weeks now but I've obviously done enough in that time for him (Waddock) to consider me in that type of role and it's one I'm really looking forward to."
