Aberdeen sign goalkeeper Mark Howard on one-year deal
Howard made only two appearances for St Mirren last season
Goalkeeper Mark Howard has completed a move to Aberdeen after being released from his contract at St Mirren.
Howard, who joined the Buddies in 2007 from Cardiff City, has agreed a one-year deal with the Pittodrie club.
A product of Arsenal's youth system, the 23-year-old Englishman has also had spells at Falkirk and Swansea City.
The Dons were looking for a replacement for Stuart Nelson, who joined Notts County after rejecting a new contract with Aberdeen.
Nelson had been understudy to Jamie Langfield last season.
Howard, who made 52 appearances for Saints, played just twice last season as Paul Gallacher established himself as the Buddies' number one.
Ryan Jones, a product of Liverpool's academy who moved to Wigan Athletic before spending last season on the bench at Leeds United, was given a trial by the Dons last week.
However, the 18-year-old keeper returned to England after only five days in Scotland.
But defender Rory McArdle and striker Josh Magennis have joined Mark McGhee's side for the upcoming Scottish Premier League season.
