Aberdeen have sent out-of-favour midfielder Stuart Duff out on loan while looking to extend Paul Marshall's trial spell from Manchester City.
The 27-year-old Duff, who has failed to become a regular under Mark McGhee, will spend a month with Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Division One.
McGhee was impressed with midfielder Marshall after his week at Pittodrie.
"He has done well to the point where we have asked him to come back next week," the manager said of the 20-year-old.
"We are waiting for Man City to make a decision. He really enjoyed it and I would love to say yes to it.
"But, to be fair to him, he has got to really be in contention to play. There is no use him coming to sit on the bench.
"I've got to be sure we can use him and I've not seen enough to know for sure whether he is."
