Charlie Mulgrew's agent Kevin Drinkell will meet Aberdeen director of football Willie Miller and manager Mark McGhee on Tuesday about securing a new deal.
The 23-year-old defender is out of contract in the summer, but he told BBC Scotland last week he would be happy to stay if a deal can be agreed.
Drinkell said: "The talks are part of an ongoing process. It's another chance to look at what is on offer."
Mulgrew arrived at Aberdeen in July 2008 following a spell at Wolves.
A product of the Celtic youth system, Mulgrew was loaned to Dundee United in 2006, making his professional debut against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup.
He signed for the Dons last season and has proven a popular figure with the Aberdeen fans, making 55 appearances and scoring eight times.
A dead-ball specialist with dangerous curling free-kicks and corners, Mulgrew has scored three goals this season, including one against Sigma Olomouc in a Europa League qualifier.
