1523: Some action at St Mirren Park! Hamilton's James McCarthy narrowly misses a chance in front of goal from a pass by James McArthur. I don't envy the commentator who has to describe that chance!
1522:Goal! Dundee United 1-0 Falkirk. Scott Robertson volleys the ball past Robert Olejnik to give the Tangerines the lead.
1521: It's a quiet game in Paisley with St Mirren and Hamilton Accies seemingly cancelling each other out.
1520: Inverness winger Dougie Imrie is left on the deck after receiving an arm in the face.

1513:Goal! Hibernian 0-2 Kilmarnock. A sizzling drive from Allan Russell doubles Kille's advantage after only 11 minutes of play. Incredible whirlwind start from the visitors!

1502: Referees' whistles are sounding throughout the country as the rest of the SPL action gets underway.
1456: The Old Firm result from earlier in the day may well have lasting implications in the title race but how might the afternoon's fixtures influence the make up of the SPL league standings?
1442: Afternoon all, Andy here taking over from David, who is taking a well-earned break after his sterling effort in the Old Firm match.
By David Sharp
1425: Football certainly wasn't the winner at Ibrox today. Let's hope this afternoon's festive fare is easier on the eye. Time to hand the baton over to my esteemed colleague Andy Campbell. Be gentle with him...it's the season of goodwill after all...
1424: "By the way will Rangers fans now admit George Burley was right: Boyd can't do it in the big games. Rangers should have signed McDonald who scores when it matters." jmb on My Sport
Boyd battled gamely but lacked quality and left his shooting boots at home. The diminutive McDonald has a cheeky habit of popping up to bag priceless goals. His match-winning strike today oozed class.
1423: Rangers lose for the first time at home in the league in 2008 and watch Celtic disappear over the hills and far away at the top of the table. They were shockingly bereft of attacking ideas once Celtic took the lead.
It will take a Herculean effort from Walter Smith's beleaguered side to claw their way back into this title race in the new year...and a calamitous collapse from Celtic, who are on track for four championships on the trot. There's been an 11-point swing since Rangers won 4-2 at Celtic Park in August.
1421:Full-time: Rangers 0-1 Celtic. The Yuletide spoils go to Gordon Strachan's men.
1420: "I think this fixture must bring out the worst in these two sides, they've both done well in European competition recently but today they look like a bunch of Championship players." jmb on My Sport
It's been a shoddy spectacle for football purists.
1418: Celtic are on the verge of a famous victory that would take them seven points clear of their Glasgow nemesis in the race for the Scottish Premier League title.
1417: Boyd's goal-bound volley is deflected past the post. Papac takes the corner but the ball is cleared easily.
1416: "Since the goal, the life has gone out of Rangers. Celtic look more comfortable than before then; they look a yard faster, a yard quicker." BBC Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod
1414: McGregor saves from Samaras' point-blank header. The Greek international was allowed to ghost inbetween the Easter-Island-statue-like figures of Papac and Broadfoot to get a header in but McGregor stood tall and blocked it with his chest.
1413: "There are rumblings of discontent in the stands. There is pressure on Rangers to get some kind of result." BBC Radio Scotland commentator David Begg
1411: Celtic corner. Hartley sends it in but the ball is wellied clear of danger. O'Dea takes his time with the resulting throw-in. Time is what Rangers are running out of.
1409: Ten nail-biting minutes to go for both sets of fans.
1408: The normally laser-accurate Mendes is miles off with a long-range pass in the direction of Novo. The little Spaniard, on as a substitute for Steven Whittaker, was in acres of space there.
1405: O'Dea's slack pass is intercepted by Ferguson. The Rangers skipper finds Boyd at the second attempt who in turn feeds Miller but the striker runs headlong into the twin-headed collosus of Caldwell and McManus. No way through for Miller.
1404: Snap-shot from Hartley from 35 yards but McGregor is alert to the looping strike and dives to smother the ball at his left-hand post.
1402: Desperate defending from Celtic. First Mendes then Papac are denied by a flock of green-and-white hooped jerseys. Then Papac manages to poke the ball across the goal but McManus nods behind for a corner.
1359: Little composure from either side in possession. The ball is being launched back and forward up and down the pitch. It's like watching a game of giant tennis. Or volleyball or summat. Woeful stuff.
1358: "Rangers are throwing everything forward, but they're running the risk that Celtic will hit them on the counter-attack." BBC Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod
1356: Celtic have been given a tremendous lift by that sizzling McDonald goal and are battling like demons. Meanwhile, Rangers have had the Christmas stuffing knocked out of them and are playing in a ga-ga daze.
1355: "It's up to Rangers to take the game to Celtic, but they don't seem to have any ideas at the moment." BBC Scotland commentator Billy Dodds
1354: Rangers haven't lost at Ibrox in the league throughout the entire year of 2008. They've got 25 minutes to protect that record.
1352: Mizuno, who flitted in and out of his Old Firm debut to no great effect, trots off the field of play with defender Darren O'Dea taking his place. Gordon Strachan has obviously decided to tighten things up and protect Celtic's advantage.
1351: The gangling forward Kyle 'Giraffe' Lafferty (Girafferty?!) comes on to replace the frankly rotten Charlie Adam. It was a mistake to play turgid midfielder.
1350: "What a difference in Scott McDonald since August. 'Who ate all the pies?' Was the question back in August but today he's putting in a super performance." BBC Radio Scotland commentator David Begg
1349: A hammer blow for Rangers. How will Walter Smith's team respond? Join the debate
1348: "Fantastic goal - he's capable of that. We saw him do it against Manchester United. Great goal." BBC Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod
1346: Goal! Rangers 0-1 Celtic. Samaras nods a high ball into the path of Scott McDonald who easily rolls round Kirk Broadfoot and sends a brilliant volley into the top corner beyond the flailing paws of McGregor.
1344: Boyd steps up and rifles the set-piece into the Celtic wall. That was a waste.
1343: McManus gifts Rangers possession and the ball is launched high towards Kenny Miller in full gallop. Caldwell scythes him on the edge of the box. Free-kick and yellow card for Caldwell. Great chance for Rangers to test Boruc.
1341: Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is trotting along the touchline in what looks like an all-in-one duvet jumpsuit. The towering Dutchman has been out with an abductor strain since the beginning of October.
1339: There's not been a 0-0 draw in an Old Firm game at Ibrox in a decade. You'd have to go back to Dick Advocaat's first Glasgow derby in charge of Rangers for the last time the bitter rivals drew a blank.
1337: Rangers have started the second half at lightning pace.
1335: Boyd hares clean through on goal but Boruc makes himself massive and saves brilliantly as the Rangers striker tries to clip the ball over him into the gaping net. The ball then rebounds off Boyd and bounces clear as he tries in vain to keep the chance alive. Sorry Kris, it's dead as a dodo. That was a solid-gold opportunity squandered. Super save from Boruc though.
1334: And we're off again!
1333: Both teams are back on the pitch. Celtic's Andreas Hinkel took a knock in the first half and has been replaced by Mark Wilson. Rangers are unchanged. Adam must have recovered from his post-Christmas-binge queasiness.
1328: Rangers carved out plenty of opportunities to take a pot-shot at goal in the first half but their shooting was uniformly guff. Don't they practice that kind of thing at training? And their final ball has been poor too. In saying that, Celtic haven't had a single shot at the Rangers goal. Allan McGregor has had nothing to do. Let's hope for an improvement in quality in this second half...
1325: "re 1312: Brown has been Celtic's best player this season." MikeMcKenzie1875 on My Sport
1320: Phew! That was mildly frenzied stuff. Time for a wee break. Dunno about you but I'm going to have a turkey sarnie. Then it's a turkey curry for tea.
1316: Referee Craig Thomson blows his whistle to bring the opening half to a close. Poor fare that. Both sides started in spritely fashion but the last 15 minutes of that first half were dismal.
1314: Nowt much happening. The game is fizzling out like the dying embers of a dodgy Christmas party.
1312: "Brown has been the top man for Celtic so far. He likes to get involved, likes to take a touch. He's been working really hard." BBC Sport pundit Billy Dodds
I agree that Brown is brilliant at rampaging around breaking up play but his second touch is a tackle and his passing is slipshod to say the least. He's still a shadow of the man who Celtic signed from Hibs for £4.4m.
1310: This game is rather dire at the moment. There is no flow. And some of the passing on display is abominable. I know the surface is tricky but there is no excuse for some of the dreadful errors we're seeing.
1309: Artur Boruc appears to have got a pair of silk gloves from Santa: he's spilled the ball again and is lucky to get away with it.
1308: Lee Naylor needlessly piles into Steven Davis and gets a booking for his clumsy oafishness.
1307: Adam just made the international signal to the Rangers bench that he was about to hurl (mimes two fingers thrust down open throat).
1306: BBC Radio Scotland's Chick Young says Rangers have subs warming up - there's a possible problem with Charlie Adam. He might be unwell rather than injured. He's been entirely ineffective for the home side.
1304: Mizuno threads the ball through to Samaras but the Celtic striker has a touch like a fairy elephant and Weir steps in easily to hoof clear.
1303: "The game has dropped in quality - it's gone back to being hectic - but Old Firm games are like that, and it might end up being settled with one goal." BBC Scotland commentator Billy Dodds
1300: The first team to score in the last 27 Old Firm games has either won or drawn the match. Who do you think will score first here? Join the debate
1259: First yellow card of the game is brandished at Charlie Adam for a heavy lunge on Robson. The two players square up to each other and some unsavoury words are exchanged. I'm no expert at lip-reading but this is a family show, so I won't repeat the dreadful vitriol spouting forth from the snaggle-toothed Rangers players gob.
1258: Koki Mizuno and Barry Robson appear to have swapped positions with the Japanese player now on the left and the rangy Scot on the right.
1257: Rangers have all the possession in the first half hour: 59% to Celtic's 41%. But they've not been clinical enough with it.
1256: Boyd acts as a wall to set up Mendes but the Portugese lashes the ball sky-high in the direction of row Z.
1254: Boyd is the reluctant filling in a Caldwell and McManus sandwich as he attempts to shake the Celtic defenders off and home in on goal. I thought Charlie Adam was slow but Boyd is indeed the anti-Usain Bolt.
1251: "Pedro Mendes, Barry Ferguson and Charlie Adam have all been involved with good football, they're making the difference for Rangers." BBC Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod
1250: McDonald tees up strike-partner Samaras on the edge of the Rangers box but the big Greek skews his shot well wide.
1248: "I think today is the day Kris Boyd proves just how good he really is. As someone with no Old Firm allegiance, but as a supporter of the national team, his form of late and his improvement as a player has been very painful to watch." Glen6899 on My Sport
You could be right, but he's been anonymous thus far...
1247: Rangers look determined to get the ball forward quickly on the deck while Celtic are trying to put their hosts under pressure by punting aerial balls route-one stylee. Neither approach has worked so far. It's still goalless. Although the frantic pace has barely abated...
1246: "It looks like there is sand on the pitch or something. Either way the ball isn't moving the way it normally would." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod
1244: "I think the weatherman would call it permafrost." BBC Sport Commentator David Begg
It's like the Arctic tundra out there.
1242: Davis pings an up-and-under into the Celtic box but Kirk Broadfoot is clambering all over Boruc like a demented octopus. The ball ends up in the net but the ref correctly blows for a free-kick to Celtic.
1241: Boyd receives the ball on the edge of the box but turns like a geriatric tortoise in a trance and his shot is easily blocked.
1240: Scott Brown gets caught in possession and Rangers threaten to rampage forward in numbers but the Celtic man recovers well to nip the danger in the bud.
1239: Mizuno sends another free-kick into the Rangers box which comes to hee-haw.
1237: The ball is getting stuck on the long, frosted grass. It's treacherous underfoot out there today. It's a like a scene from Sportscene in the 1970s. They should be playing with one of those little orange Mitre balls. What happened to the Ibrox undersoil heating?
1235: Kerfuffle in the Celtic six-yard box. Davis again causes mayhem with a surging run. His initial strike is flapped away by Boruc straight back to the Northern Irishman but he balloons the rebound wildly over the bar. Caldwell appeared to handle the ball in the midst of all that. Oooh, was that a penalty?
1234: Mizuno whips a low free-kick in to the Rangers danger area but Robson's ludicrous header soars high and wide
1232: Steve Davis collects the ball wide right and floats a lovely ball in the direction of Kenny Miller in the Celtic box but the striker is flagged offside. The linesman got it wrong there - Miller was definitely in line with the Celtic rearguard. Early talking point.
1231: Some predictably meaty challenges from both sets of players in the opening minute.
1230: And we're off! Hold on to your hats.
1228: The teams are on the pitch. Celtic have won the toss and choose to kick-off.
1227: Kris Boyd starts his first Old Firm game in 19 months. That's incredible! Rangers goal-machine has only scored once against Celtic. That's a poor record and plays into the hands of his myriad critics.
1224: "Never mind the Old Firm game. The biggest game is at Fir Park where we have to beat Inverness. 2-0 'Well." kevmfc on My Sport
1220: Controversy-magnet Artur Boruc has conceded 11 goals in the last five games against Rangers - four at Ibrox and seven at Celtic Park. Can the Pole keep his head at Ibrox this afternoon?
1218: "Darren O'Dea is a great player and he is going to be a great player, but for experience on the day Stephen McManus is your man." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds
1215: With Shaun Maloney missing with a hamstring injury, Aiden McGeady serving a club suspension and Nakamura in his anime jammies, there's a lot of pressure on the delicate shoulders of Mizuno to be Celtic's lone creative spark. It's a lot to ask of a young man. How do you think Mizuno will cope with the red-hot atmosphere? Join the debate
1212: "Great team selection by WGS, let's hope Robson and Hartley get right into Rangers from the beginning!" WGS - Legend on My Sport
Celtic: Boruc, Hinkel, Caldwell, McManus, Naylor, Mizuno, Scott Brown, Hartley, Robson, McDonald, Samaras. Subs: Mark Brown, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Loovens, Wilson, Crosas, O'Dea, Hutchinson.
1205: Barry Robson and Paul Hartley, who were both touch and go with various ailments, have recovered to make Celtic's starting eleven.
1204: Charlie Adam, who has barely featured this season for Rangers, will start for the home side. Strange one that. Walter Smith seems to favour the former St Mirren man for the left-midfield berth in Old Firm games. Adam also started in Rangers' 4-2 win at Celtic Park back in August.
1203: Rangers home record in recent times makes impressive reading: W 26 D 1 L 1 in their last 28 games at Ibrox since the beginning of last season. In fact, they are unbeaten in the league at home in ye whole of 2008.
1201: Shock early team news from Ibrox: Japanese Old Firm rookie Koki Mizuni will start for Celtic. Exciting news for Celtic fans - the little 23-year-old sparkled in the 3-0 win over Falkirk last weekend.
1200: Afternoon all! What birdbrained goon said that the Yuletide Old Firm clash just ain't what it used to be? Absolute claptrap. The nerves are a-jinglin' and a-janglin' over on sunny Govan as Rangers and Celtic prepare to lock horns in the second Glasgow derby of the season.
There's a full menu of seasonal SPL fare for your delectation this afternoon, but first thing's first...it's Clash of the Titans! Let's hear all your rants and raves as the incendiary action unfolds.
Of course, you can listen to BBC Radio Scotland's coverage of all the games on the wireless and online.
