By David Sharp

1710: Aaaah! Now for the calm after the storm. What a day! Stiff drink anyone? It was bedlam out there. And I don't mean the weather. Thanks for all your chat. Bye for now.

1707: Celtic restore their three point lead over rivals Rangers at the giddy summit of the table with a terrific double-whammy of late strikes. The Ibrox men have played a game less...

Falkirk leapfrog Hamilton to lift themselves off the bottom of the table. Dundee United go fourth and Motherwell sneak into the top six for the first time this season.

1705: "Why would someone dive if they were round the goalkeeper? Hearts have been robbed by a power-mad linesman... ahem, excuse me - 'assistant referee'." GlasgowJambo1987 on My Sport Join the debate

1702: Bairns boss John Hughes on Steve Lovell's sending off: "I won't fine him, I've never fined a player. We need committed types at the club." Tough guys at Falkirk!

1700: "Poor defending by the Hibees, but Loovens and Brown finished it off the Celtic way - two late goals!!" meeks88 on My Sport Join the debate

1658: "David Sharp's no exactly sharp lol, never rely on the BBC for your scores. Good for a bit o banter though." fiferjim on My Sport Join the debate

Sorry about the score updates - or lack of them! - towards the end chaps! I got lost in a late blizzard of goals!

Although, some people, including the aptly-named weegreenmeanie, have been a tad harsh! And as for I_Smacked_Dida...well, he's clearly unhinged, and should perhaps seek professional help to soothe his internet rage! (I'm just kidding!) I mean, there's no need for such mindless abuse...just as there's no need for the dreadful white polo neck Derek Riordan was wearing under his strip today. That kind of high-noncery needs stamped out of Scottish football.

1654: Full time everywhere. No wins in four games for Hearts. And the normally mild-mannered Csaba Laszlo could be in serious trouble with the SFA after that final-whistle stramash at Tynecastle.

1651: Full time at Rugby Park. Falkirk hold on to win 2-1 despite a late flurry from Killie.

1650: The cops are on the pitch at Tynecastle as Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo manhandles the fourth official in an attempt to confront asisstant ref Steve Conroy about that 'penalty' decision! It's an old-fashioned brouhaha. Lots of pushing and shoving and handbags at dawn stuff.

1649: Goal! Celtic 4-2 Hibs. Former Easter Road favourite Scott Brown clinches victory for Celtic. Sub Aiden McGeady nonchalantly flicks the ball sideways on the edge of the Hibs box and Brown pings a daisy-cutter which skids past Ma-Kalambay.

1648: Goal! Dundee United 2-0 St Mirren. On an emotional day for United fans - their first game since the funeral of late chairman Eddie Thompson - Craig Conway bursts through the Saints defence and unleashes a shot which beats Howard. Conway has surely wrapped up a poignant victory for United.

1647: Game over at Inverness. 'Well have won it. 2-1. Big bad Herc.

1646: Goal! Kilmarnock 1-2 Falkirk. Killie grab a lifeline courtesy of Donovan Simmonds. He heads home at the near post following a cross from the left by fellow substitute Willie Gibson.

1644: Drama at Tynecastle! Referee Steve Conroy points to the spot after Michael Stewart goes down in the box. But, after protests from Dons goalkeeper Jamie Langfield, the referee over-rules the decision after consulting his assistant. Hearts gaffer Csaba Laszlo is absolutely livid - he looks like he's necked a jar of jalapenos. His face is ruby red and actual steam is coming out of his ears.

1643: Goal! Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren. They have now! Roy O'Donovan'sdeflected effort gives Dundee United the lead late on at Tannadice.

1642: "The St Mirren defence haven't put a foot wrong."
BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

1640: Great header from Loovens, but how did that ball manage to squeeze between Ian Murray and the post - Hibs man on the post appeared to collapse his skeleton as the ball squirmed past him.

1638: Goal! Celtic 3-2 Hibernian. Super sub (well, he is now) Glenn Loovens soars above the Hibs defence to give Celtic the lead with 14 minutes to go.

1637: Goal! Inverness CT 1-2 Motherwell. Mark McGhee has been critical of Bob Malcolm this week. Well, he'll have to take it back now as the 'Herc-from-The-Wire' doppelganger rifles a belter of a free-kick high past Michael Fraser.

1635 Aberdeen hit the Hearts woodwork again. Sone Aluko tees up Lee Miller and the big striker's 25-yard shot cannons off the post with the keeper beaten. Hearts are drowning in a red sea at the moment, but are somehow staying afloat at 1-1.

1634: Can Killie launch a dramatic Lazarus-like comeback against 10-man Falkirk? Join the debate

1632: Still no goals at Tannadice. The Buddies go close though: Morgaro Gomis clears off the line from Franco Miranda's header.

1630: Lovell takes his time to leave the pitch. As he, enfin, troops off sullenly, boss John Hughes pats him on the head as if to say, "Well done son - nice knee action there."

1628: SENDING OFF. The Bairns have been reduced to 10 men after Steve Lovell is given a straight red for kneeing the prostate Chris Hamill as the pair became entangled on the ground.

1625: Goal! Inverness CT 1-1 Motherwell. The collective noun for 'Well fans has now changed from 'gloom' to 'gleeful' after Chris Porter bangs in a deserved equaliser for the visitors.

1623: Goal! Kilmarnock 0-2 Falkirk. Cool-headed youngster Scott Arfield steps up to double Falkirk's advantage. Wait a minute, there's an echo in here...

1622: Penalty to Falkirk! Hamill chops Barret in the box and Mike McCurry points to the spot. Scott Arfield steps up to double Falkirk's advantage.

1620: Yves Ma-Kalambay makes a superb save from Scott McDonald, parrying away the little Aussie's strike.

1619: Is this true? Does Willie Miller's 'tache have special powers? Is it magic? Like Samson's barnet? Or Dangermouse's index finger? BBC Radio Scotland pundit Stevie Frail has just said that "moustaches don't win football matches". Ha ha, brilliant!

1618: BBC Radio Scotland commentator John Barnes says he was reading in the paper that some Aberdeen fans believe they've not been playing well since director of football Willie Miller shaved off his moustache - and now the Dons are jinxed!!

1617: Aberdeen's Jared Hodgkiss sends a long-range drive crashing off the Hearts crossbar.

1615: It's been all Motherwell since Caley Thistle scored. David Clarkson's header is hoofed off the line by Russell Duncan.

1613: At Tannadice, Zaluska saves from Billy Mehmet after the St Mirren striker skins Darren Dods.

1612: "Off his backside??? It came off his head as far as I could see." fiferjim on My Sport Join the debate

I'd need to see it again on the telly. I'm sure you're right, but I prefer to say it came off his bahooky...it sounds better! More fun.

1611: Goal! Celtic 2-2 Hibs. This time Steven Fletcher gets ALL the credit for that one. Although Nish assisted him again - on this occasion with his foot instead of his posterior. Fletcher sweeps his strike-partner's cross past Boruc.

1609: McDonald sclaffs a shot on the turn from six yards and Ma-Kalambay gathers with ease as the 'shot' trickles towards him.

1606: "Keeping to a weather theme and the fact they are one down?? How about a depression of well fans." fiferjim on My Sport Join the debate

I like it fiferjim. Or howsabout 'a gloom of 'Well fans'? Those nights are fair drawing in up in the Highlands...

1604: "Not only is it wet, but the wind is horrific at times. So great credit to the players, they are looking to get the ball down and pass it."
Former Hearts caretaker boss Stevie Frail at Tynecastle

1602: Glenn Loovens is stripped (no, he's not been playing 'strip football at half-time (see 1442)) and ready to start the second-half for Celtic. The Dutch defender replaces captain and goalscorer McManus.

1600:Goal! Inverness CT 1-0 Motherwell. The crowd have barely settled in their seats before Adam Rooney breaks the deadlock with a lightning-quick breakaway goal. That goal came from a Motherwell corner. Excellent stuff.

1559: We're away again in the Highlands. Caley Thistle v Motherwell has resumed.

1558: I'm back in the live text saddle, riding the SPL buckin' bronco like billy-o, hanging on for dear life.

1552: Time for a wee break, time for a Kit-Kat and a warm cup of tea.

1551: "There is only about 100 'Well fans there but they are making all the noise." kevmfc on My Sport Join the debate

Well done to those hardy souls who have ventured north through wild weather. I wonder what the collective noun is for today's loyal century of Motherwell fans? A 'pride'?

1549: Hibs deserve to be back in the game at Parkhead. It's been fairly evenly matched.

1548: Half-time across the country. Phew!

1547: The rain is "cascading down" at Rugby Park according to BBC Radio Scotland's commentator Kheredine Idessane. Nice word that. Captures today's ghastly conditions perfectly.

1546: Francisco Sandaza comes close for Dundee United with a curling right-foot effort which flies narrowly over the bar.

1545: Goal! Celtic 2-1 Hibs. Who scored that? Steven Fletcher cuts in from the left and arrows a great shot goalwards. The ball scudded off Colin Nish'sbackside to wrong-foot Boruc. I'm going to credit that goal to both of them. Nice accidental assist from Nish, although I reckon he'll claim it. Game on!

1539: Killie pressing for an equaliser in the past few minutes. The home fans are getting vocal, venting their fury at officials at every turn. Shame for the ref. As if it isn't bad enough with the twin touchline-ragers Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown howling at you.

1538: Goal! Celtic 2-0 Hibs. McManus plays long ball to McDonald whose crafty back-heel sends Cillian Sheridan clear on goal. The Irishman rounds Yves Ma-Kalambay with the entire visitors defence AWOL.

1535: Goal! Celtic 1-0 Hibs. From Celtic's first real shot on target, if you can call it a shot. More of a goal-scoring pass. Stephen McManus slides the ball over the line from six yards after some sloppy defending from Hibs. An instinctive finish from a natural born penalty-box poacher there...

1533: Inverness and Motherwell are playing 'air football' - that's where the ball floats about and doesn't touch the ground until the goalkeeper grabs it. A tad windy in the Highlands today.

1531: "I wonder how Riordan would celebrate if he scored against Celtic." Tano24 on My Sport Join the debate

Hmmmm, I wonder indeed...

1529: Goal! Kilmarnock 0-1 Falkirk. The Bairns take the lead against in-form Killie. An unconvincing punch in swirling wind from keeper Alan Combe and Steve Lovell birls on the proverbial sixpence to score.

1526: Dundee United's Lukasz Zaluska makes an excellent save from a Hugh Murray volley.

1525: Boruc denies Riordan again, this time from a sizzling half-volley from the reborn Hibs striker. The Polish keeper manages to extend a telescopic left paw and turn the ball round the post.

1523: "I think it's fair to say St Mirren have weathered the early storm."
BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod.

Ha! Very good Liam! Not quite 'The Perfect Storm' then from Dundee United...

1522: Goal! Hearts 1-1 Aberdeen. A neat one-two between Christian Nade and Lee Wallace and Wallace rattles in the equaliser with James Bond-like aplomb. Back all-square at Tynecastle.

1520: Young Irishman Cillian Sheridan partners Scott McDonald up front for Celtic. Both have been rather muted so far.

1518: "I like the boy Zaliukas. He is a good footballer, but sometimes he switches off and he allowed the ball to go through to the goalkeeper when he should have booted it into the stand"
Former Hearts caretaker manager Stevie Frail

1515: Goal! Hearts 0-1 Aberdeen. Second goal of the season for Darren Mackie. The ball slips past Marius Zaliukas like an ice hockey puck and Mackie pounces to slide the ball home from seven yards. First blood to the Dandy Dons.

1513: St Mirren have only beaten Dundee United once in the SPL since returning to the top flight and that victory was at Tannadice.

1512: Rumours have been on the go that under-fire Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood is going to get the bullet in the next 48 hours. Richard Gordon has just poo-poohed the whisperings as 'rubbish' on BBC Radio Scotland's highly-authoritative Sportsound. So, there you have it. It's a load of old Steve Tosh.

1510: Teams from Rugby Park (oops!):

Kilmarnock: Combe, Fowler, Lilley, Wright, Hamill, Invincibile,Bryson, Pascali, Taouil, Fernandez, Sammon. Subs: Rascle, Murray, Gibson, Skelton, Flannigan, Cox, Simmonds.

Falkirk: Flinders, McNamara, Barr, Aafjes, Holden, McBride, Arfield, O'Brien, McCann, Lovell, Barrett. Subs: Olejnik, Cregg, Latapy, Higdon, Riera, Mark Stewart, Lynch.

1509: United are rampant at the moment. Darren Dods' shot is saved on the line by Howard as United maintain their vibrant start. Six corners for the men in Tangerine but no goals so far.

1507: At Tannadice, Dundee United's Craig Conway sees his shot athletically tipped over the bar by St Mirren goalkeeper Mark Howard. Close but no cigar.

1506: Early chance for Riordan to make Gordon Strachan regret neglecting him in his ill-fated spell at Celtic. A nice curling free-kick from 30-yards, but Boruc gets down sharpish at his left-hand post to smother the ball.

1503: And we're off! Hold on to your hats! No, really, hold on to them else you'll be chasing yer bunnets (and bonnets for the girls) down the street. It will be like that scene in 'The Witches of Eastwick' when that devilish rogue Jack Nicholson gets blown all over the shop.

1501: The teams are taking the field at Celtic Park...or trying to as the howling squall buffets them back down the tunnel.

1454: Team news from Tynecastle: Hearts are dealt a double pre-match injury blow after Andy Driver and Laryea Kingston are ruled unavailable. Winger Driver, who made his first appearance for six weeks in last Sunday's Edinburgh derby, failed an afternoon fitness test after reporting a back problem. Ghana international Kingston, meanwhile, did not recover in time from a muscle problem.

It means Spaniard Ruben Palazuelos is handed his first start of the season, while Saulius Mikoliunas replaces midfielder Kingston.

Despite recording a 1-0 victory at Falkirk last weekend, Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood makes a minor reshuffle. Mark Kerr and Stuart Duff drop to the bench and are replaced by Sone Aluko and Jared Hodgkiss.

1452: Teams: Inverness CT: Fraser, Tokely, Munro, Duff, Hastings, Imrie, Black, Cowie, Duncan, Rooney, Wood. Subs: Esson, Djebi-Zadi, Proctor, McBain, Wilson, Barrowman, Vigurs.

Motherwell: Graeme Smith, Lasley, Reynolds, Malcolm, Hammell, Clarkson, Hughes, McGarry, Murphy, Porter, Sutton. Subs: Nielsen, Darren Smith, Fitzpatrick, O'Brien, Connolly, McHugh, Page.

1450: An opera singer (a male tenor I believe, although I didn't catch the fellow's name?!) has just brought the house down at Parkhead with a rousing rendition of 'Nessun Dorma'. How about that eh? Who says those Eastenders aren't cultured?

1447: Here's how they will take the field at Celtic Park:

Celtic: Boruc, Hinkel, Caldwell, McManus, Robson, Nakamura, Scott Brown, Hartley, Maloney, Sheridan, McDonald. Subs: Mark Brown, McGeady, Loovens, Donati, McCourt, O'Dea, McGowan. Hibernian: Ma-Kalambay, van Zanten, Jones, Bamba, Stevenson, Fletcher, Shiels, Murray, Rankin, Riordan, Nish. Subs: McNeil, Hogg, Yantorno, Keenan, Thicot, Chisholm, Pinau.

1444: Hibs striker Derek Riordan recovers from a calf injury to take his place against his former club in the match of the day at Celtic Park. Moomin look-a-likey Mixu Paatelainen makes one change from the side that drew 1-1 against Hearts last week: midfielder John Rankin replaces Steven Thicot who started as substitute.

1442: I'm not sure if I heard this right: whilst announcing the teams for the Caley Thistle-Motherwell game, Scott Davie said that Mark McGhee had 'Well playing 'strip football' in training this week! The rules are that you have to remove an item of clothing if you miss a chance! Going by Motherwell's recent luck in front of goal, most of the squad must have been running about buck naked. 1338: Gordon Strachan drafts in Andreas Hinkel, Paul Hartley and Shaun Maloney with midfielder Barry Robson slotting in at left-back in place of Naylor.

1334: "Come on David give us your predictions for the afternoon games." kevmfc on My Sport Join the debate

Thanks for putting me on the spot Kev! OK, here goes: Celtic 2-1 Hibs; Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren; Hearts 3-1 Aberdeen; Inverness CT 1-1 Motherwell; Kilmarnock 2-1 Falkirk.

1330: As always, I want to hear your views on the action using My Sport and via text on 80295. So, let's get some some quality banter on the go!

1428: Early team news: Both Celtic full-backs have been dropped for the visit of Hibs to a wildly dreich Parkhead. Mark Wilson and Lee Naylor are OUT. Aiden McGeady and Glenn Loovens also drop to the bench after Tuesday's humbling at Old Trafford.

1426: Thanks Andy. Hola muckers! As Nacho McNovo might say...

By Andy Campbell

1425: Okay, I'm going to hand over to my colleague David Sharp who will see you through the afternoon's games.

1421: FT: Hamilton 1-3 Rangers. Rangers consign Hamilton to a fifth successive league defeat. The Ibrox club go level on points with Celtic, who are in action later at home to Hibernian.

1417: James McCarthy's skilful run for Hamilton ends with a shot that drifts wide.

1416: Another game in the Scottish Cup has been called off: Civil Service Strollers v Vale of Leithen has been postponed.

1414: Hamilton's James McArthur twists and turns on the left but his cross is claimed by Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

1410: This really has been a pretty turgid game but both sets of players deserve credit for maintaining their level of commitment.

1409: "Novo for Scotland, that's what I say."
BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell

1408: GOAL.Hamilton 1-3 Rangers: Martin Canning gifts the ball away and DaMarcus Beasley's replacement Nacho Novo runs on, showing great composure to stick it under the goalkeeper.

1407: "A Hamilton fan is ejected from the ground. No love lost between these fans."
BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell

1406: "Just noticed Inverness v Motherwell is to be shown in full on BBC Alba at 7.30pm tonight. Wonder if I could hide myself from the score for the day and then watch it without knowing the result. It never works though does it? Its like the old clip from Only an Excuse." madscot125 on My Sport

1405: Rangers Steven Davis ventures into the Hamilton box but fires wide from close range.

1403: "All the strike dangers are coming from Kris Boyd still aching to get his hat-trick and prove Scotland manager George Burley wrong."
BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell

1403: Tomas Cerny denies Kris Boyd a hat-trick with a finger-tip save. Kevin Thomson's resultant corner drifts out of play.

1402: Rangers assistant boss Ally McCoist has signalled that Nacho McNovo is about to replace DaMarcus Beasley.

1400: These two teams are back in action against each other on Tuesday in the CIS Cup, hear it all on BBC Radio Scotland and online.

1358: Summer football and video evidence, the topics that just won't go away!

1357: Rangers keeping possession but struggling to make it into the Hamilton box.

1350: "It's high time we were using replay evidence. The argument about it holding up the game is nonsense because the game has already stopped anyway. A whole 5 seconds of watching the replay could have turned that second goal into a free kick." KillieJimbo SOFBTRC on My Sport

BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell

1223: BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds predicts a 3-0 win for Rangers.

1222: "The pitch is fantastic. We look forward to the game, it's a huge occasion for Hamilton Accies, never mind Billy Reid. I think det pieces could be important today. These are the elements placed in front of you and you just have to play in them. We could not train on grass all week because it was flooded. We have made a couple of changes as we have to solidify it a bit. Debutant James Gibson is a left full-back but will play in the middle to solidify us.""
Hamilton manager Billy Reid

1216: ""As long as the playing surface is fine and fans and players are not in danger, don't see why we should not be playing. It looks like the park is in tremendous condition. We just have to adapt to the conditions. Boydy, pound for pound, can score goals better than anyone in the country and that's why he is in the team. I was here (at New Douglas Park) when the sprinklers came on last week and it's the funniest thing I've ever seen, and I've played with Ted McMinn."
Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist

1212: Team news from the first game of the day at New Douglas Park. Hamilton: Cerny, Mensing, Swailes, Canning, Easton, McArthur, McCarthy, Neil, McClenahan, Akins, Gibson. Subs: Murdoch, Elebert, Casement, Ettien, Corcoran, Offiong, Graham.

Rangers: McGregor; Broadfoot, Bougherra, Weir, Papac; Davis, Mendes, Thomson, Beasley; Boyd, Miller. Substitutes: Alexander, Dailly, McMillan, Loy, Lafferty, Darcheville, Novo.

1200: It's a howler of a day all across the country. Well, certainly on the wild west coast. On the weather report on the telly this morning you couldn't see Scotland; it was hidden under a giant blanket of rain.

But, miraculously, ALL 42 of the games scheduled to take place (including 16 Scottish Cup second round ties) have survived the biblical downpour...so far! And that includes a bumper card of SPL fixtures.

We've got six corkers (here's hoping anyway!) for your remote entertainment. First up is the early kick-off at New Douglas Park as Hamilton take on Rangers.
