1800: That's it from me for today folks. No fewer than seven goals from two matches, with a 2-1 home win for Rangers that saw them remain top of the table, and a confident 3-1 away win over Kilmarnock for Celtic. Plus - a sending off for hand-ball and three penalties, one of which was missed yet again by Celtic. You couldn't ask for more. Adios!
1754: "My man of the match is the same as last week, Georgios Samaras. He scored a magnificent goal and he was outstanding today." BBC Sportsound pundit Murdo MacLeod.
1752: FULL-TIME: Kilmarnock 1-3 Celtic.
1751: What a match this has been today - three penalties and a sending off - and it's not over yet. Kilmarnock are still pushing for another. Don't forget to rate the players and send us your man of the match. Rate the players1749: Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is done for the day as Glenn Loovens comes on for the last few minutes of the match.
1747: GOAL: Kilmarnock 1-3 Celtic. Mehdi Taouil steps up and blasts in a low kick from the spot. Artur Boruc picks the right corner for his dive, but the ball thunders under his body into the net and hands Killie a consolation for their efforts.
1745: PENALTY: Gary Caldwell deliberately handles the ball on the line and Mike McCurry points to the spot, but not before producing a red card for the Scotland international and sending him in for an early bath.
1742: GOAL: Kilmarnock 0-3 Celtic. Georgios Samaras demonstrates to his team-mates how a dead-ball should be struck from the penalty spot. The Greece international blasts it into the back of the Killie net past Alan Combe.
1741: PENALTY: Shunske Nakamura goes to ground under pressure from Frazer Wright.
1737: A fine chance goes a-begging for Killie as Donovan Simmonds powers down the right-hand side and cuts a clean ball across the Celtic six-yard box, but Conor Sammon just couldn't get to it.
1733: Celtic manager Gordon Strachan makes another substitution as Marc Crosas makes way for Paul Hartley. The former Barcelona man receives a warm round of applause from the vocal travelling Celtic support for his efforts today as he walks off.
1732: Jim Jefferies makes a double substitution in a bid to rescue something from the match. Garry Hay is replaced by Jamie Hamill and David Fernandez comes off for Iain Flannigan. Will it be enough to get his side back in the game? Rate the players
1729: Whatever fire Kilmarnock had at the start of this match has sputtered out. They're still battling for the second ball, but Celtic are looking much more positive at the back than in the first half.
1727: Georgios Samaras is on fire today, he narrowly missed an opportunity to notch up his second of the day with a drive from the left-hand side, but was thwarted by the post. Definitely a candidate for man of the match.
1720: Shaun Maloney makes way as Aiden McGeady comes on for Celtic with 30 minutes to play.
1718: Kilmarnock respond at the other end when Danny Invincibile powers in a shot that warms the hands of Artur Boruc. A good response from the home side. It also looks like Gordon Strachan is giving Aiden McGeady the nod to get his tracksuit off.
1715: GOAL: Kilmarnock 0-2 Celtic. Georgios Samaras puts on a one man show, running half the length of the pitch with the ball at his feet, out-paces two Killie defenders, then picks his corner and blasts in his sixth goal in five games to double Celtic's lead.
1713: "Did Billy Dodds just describe Rangers' scrappy one-goal home victory as 'Total Football' for the second week running? Admittedly, they are an improved outfit. But, come on now, really? Some of what Doddsy is drinking over here please!" Peter Murrin by email.
1710: Celtic are unlucky not to double their tally after Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink fires in a header from a fine cross, but Alan Combe pulls of a brilliant save and Killie are still in the game.
1705: The second-half is underway at Rugby Park.
1654: "Kenny Miller set the tone today and he was unlucky not to score, so he's my BBC Sportsound man of the match for the day." BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds.
1653: HALF-TIME: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic.
1652: Who is your man of the match at Ibrox? There's no question about Kenny Miller's work-rate today, but Pedro Mendes is certainly a worthy candidate. I've also just heard Steven Davis has earned the plaudits at Ibrox from the press. Rate the players
1651: FULL-TIME: Rangers 2-1 Motherwell. Rangers hang on to the top slot in the SPL in a nail-biting climax at Ibrox.
1647: Stephen McManus picks up a yellow card at Rugby Park. Does he have a sticker album at home where he's putting them? I make that his third of the season, plus a red against Iceland for Scotland. Rate the players
1645: GOAL: Rangers 2-1 Motherwell. David Clarkson on the six-yard line after David Porter gets to the by-line and delivers a fine cross. Clarkson hits it on the half-volley past Alexander to give the Steelmen some hope. Three minutes remain on the clock, with two added on.
1642: A tale of two strikers: Georgios Samaras breaks free down the right-hand side for Celtic at Rugby Park and thunders into the Killie penalty area with three defenders around him and Alan Combe to beat. His shot flashes across the face of goal.
Back at Ibrox, Kenny Miller goes clean-through in almost identical circumstances over on the right-hand side, but sends his shot across the face of goal. I think it went out for a throw-in.
1641: What a close escape for Neil Alexander there at Ibrox. Chris Porter struck the post and the ball looked net-bound, but Alexander managed to whip it away - and Kris Boyd was unlucky not to score on the counter-attack.
1640: "On the 6pm kick-offs: being in Alaska I'd be happy with that, getting up at 6am to watch the Hibs games (3pm kick-offs) is bad enough. The early ones are obviously harder, I sometimes sleep in." akhibby on My Sport Join the debate
1638: The Ibrox crowd are in full-song as Motherwell try to pick up a goal that could at least get them back in the match. It's a tall order. Rangers look strong and confident with their two-goal lead.
1636: Samaras just took a full-pelt toe-basher right on the coupon. My eyes are watering just looking at the replay.
1634: GOAL: Rangers 2-0 Motherwell. Nacho Novo is on the pitch all of three minutes and picks up a Kenny Miller cross that bobbles about in the six-yard box and somehow makes it into the back of the net. The little Spaniard won't be caring how it went in, as long as his name is on the scoresheet tonight.
1632: Jim Jefferies makes a substitution at Rugby Park as Gavin Skelton looks like he's struggling. Irish striker Conor Sammon comes on as their formation goes 4-4-2.
1630: Rangers' DaMarcus Beasley makes way for Nacho Novo. Walter Smith clearly has more goals in mind for this match.
1629: I'm watching the two matches on a split screen, and the pace of the action in both games is blistering. My eyes are popping out of my skull. David Clarkson just thundered a shot at Rangers' goal and Neil Alexander was at full stretch to parry it round the post. Motherwell's best chance of the match has the home support biting their nails.
1628: "I don't know if it's the black outfit, but Artur Boruc looks like a slimmer, leaner goalkeeper." BBC Scotland Sport pundit Murdo MacLeod
1626: GOAL: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic. Shaun Maloney benefits from some fantastic midfield build-up play by Shunsuke Nakamura and makes up for his disastrous penalty miss a few minutes ago.
1625: "Kilmarnock are now pushing into the game after Celtic having created most of the early pressure." BBC Scotland Sport pundit Murdo MacLeod
1624: Celtic look like they couldn't find the target with a map and a compass. With only the keeper to beat, Georgios Samaras just hit a ball straight at Alan Combe from six yards out.
1623: "The only thing that Maloney got right was the direction, there was no pace in it at all, what a miss, the second Celtic penalty missed in two weeks." BBC Scotland Sport pundit Murdo MacLeod
1621: PENALTY MISS: Shaun Maloney hits the ball wide of Alan Combe's right-hand post. Fellow penalty-misser Barry Robson watches from the stand with his fingers in his mouth.
1620: Penalty at Rugby Park for Celtic. Gary Hay trips Shaun Maloney inside the box.
1616: Celtic are under a bit of pressure at Rugby Park. Pascali nodded a header across the face of goal and the ball was deflected out by a Celtic jersey for a corner. Gordon Strachan's men look like they're feeling the heat down Ayrshire way.
1615: GOAL: Rangers 1-0 Motherwell. Steven Davis goes one-on-one with Graeme Smith and slots home with confidence to put Rangers one up. Some great work by Boyd and Miller to tee up the former Fulham man.
1614: What a fantastic shot by Kris Boyd from the edge of the Motherwell penalty area. Graeme Smith tested to the limit, but it turns out it was offside anyway. BBC Sportsound commentator David Begg said he didn't "hear" the flag go up. One for Colemanballs?
1612: Motherwell's John Sutton makes way for Jamie Murphy at Ibrox. No SPL goal for the younger brother of ex-Celtic man Chris today.
1610: It looks like it's been a fairly dry start to the match at Rugby Park. Could we be in for a couple of dull draws today?
1608: "Billy Dodds talks utter nonsense. My dog can see a pass quicker than Kenny Miller. He could have put Beasley in for an early goal and instead decided to try his luck himself. And lets face it, his scoring record isn't that great either." madscot125 on My Sport Join the debate
1605: "Kilmarnock have gone 26 games without a win against Celtic." BBC Sport Scotland commentator John Barnes
Could today be the day Killie break their duck against Celtic?
1604: Kenny Miller looks like someone has popped a gob-stopper under his temple. It must be from the clash just before half-time.
1603: Play resumes at Ibrox, no changes for either side. Let's hope we see some goals in the second-half.
1600: And they're off at Rugby Park. Kilmarnock are wearing their traditional blue and white stripes, Celtic in their canary yellow away jerseys and green shorts.
1559: Celtic manager Gordon Strachan on why Marc Crosas will start the game at Rugby Park for Celtic: "Crosas is a good player and Barry Robson has a groin strain."
Fair enough Gordon. Our reporter Chris McLaughlin couldn't get the Celtic manager to even respond on why Aiden McGeady has been left out of the starting line-up.
1545: HALF-TIME at Ibrox. Rangers 0-0 Motherwell. Kenny Miller would be a good choice for man of the match so far, although Pedro Mendes looks like he's going to make his mark as a rare talent.
1543: "Almost half time and Dailly hasn't cost us a goal? Phenomenal." Knolte on My Sport Join the debate
Celtic: Boruc, Wilson, McManus, Caldwell, Naylor, Scott Brown, Crosas, Nakamura, Maloney, Samaras, Vennegoor of Hesselink. Subs: Mark Brown, McDonald, Hartley, Loovens, McGeady, O'Dea, Caddis.
1540: "Kenny Miller is an intelligent player. He can see a pass, he knows the game and takes part in the build-up. Boyd has not quite been on the same wavelength as Miller, so he needs to work on that, get switched on an make sure he's linking up." BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds.
1531: Blistering stuff at Ibrox. End-to-end, to coin a well-worn cliché. Steven Davis powers from one end of the pitch to the other with the ball at his feet, but Mendes fails to latch on to the final pass. Then David Clarkson heads straight back up to the other end, but runs out of steam at the 18-yard line. To top it all off, Kenny Miller responds at the other end with a low drive that Graeme Smith tips past the post.
1530: "The SPL and Scottish Police would veto a 6.00 pm kick off time as it allows too much drinking time for weekend games." GretnaGut on My Sport
"3 O'clock is when games should be played anyway, unless of course its midweek." madscot125 on My Sport.
It sounds like you chaps are not in favour of late kick-offs on a Sunday? Join the debate
1528: Stephen Craigan adds to Motherwell's yellow card tally with a serious challenge on Kenny Miller after the former Celtic man skinned him alive down the left-hand side. It looks like this one could get nasty if Eddie Smith doesn't reign the players in.
1523: And Quinn bounces right back with a rash tackle on Mendes. The ref has no hesitation in showing the big defender a yellow card. Walter Smith is involved in the action on the sidelines and referee Eddie Smith has a quiet word. Walter marches back down the tunnel - but it doesn't look like he's been sent there.
1520: Paul Quinn has taken a knock and Mark McGhee might be forced into making a substitution, but he doesn't have a decent defender on his bench.
1513: Some team news from Rugby Park - Aiden McGeady is not in the Celtic starting line-up. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Marc Crosas and Mark Wilson have all been handed starting berths. Sounds like Mr Strachan has sent McGeady to Coventry... or would that be Manchester?
1511: "Can't believe that Dailly is playing! He's useless." crespo1873 on My Sport Rate the players
1510: It's been a fairly low-key start to the match, although Mendes certainly looks the part. Rangers have looked menacing at times - particularly Miller and Boyd up front, but it's early days yet. If Motherwell can get forward, this one could be a cracker.
1505: "The Sunday kick-off is because one of the teams is still in Europe!!!!!!!" BustaMcWharbuckle
Thanks for that BustaMcWharbuckle, we've already mentioned that Motherwell were in action in the Uefa Cup, but today's match would have been an ideal candidate for a 6pm kick-off. Join the debate
1502: Two minutes in and Pedro Mendes is taken late by former Rangers man Bob Malcolm. That'll be Big Bob letting the Portuguese know he's in his sights.
1500: And they're off at Ibrox. Looks like a full house with flags a-plenty and the sun shining over Govan.
1458: Billy Dodds has predicted 3-1 to Rangers as the players come out on to the pitch. Get your predictions in at the BBC's Predictor game.
1445: We're getting close to kick-off time at Ibrox. It's always exciting, no matter what the game. When I left the house this morning, my neighbour had been up and out since 8am washing his car, looking forward to going to Ibrox to watch Rangers, but he wasn't very happy about a home game being on a Sunday. What do you guys make of Sunday matches? Personally, I would like to see a return to the Sunday 6pm kick-off. Join the debate
1441: Hot news from Kilmarnock - Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown have extended their contracts at Rugby Park until 2012. They're the longest-serving management team in British football and it looks like their reign at Rugby Park is going to continue for a long time to come.
1432: RFC-CM-RF just posted this on My Sport: "Martin, Kilmarnock lost their clean sheet and unbeaten run against rangers last week...".
Thanks for that, RFC-CM-RF, but I should point out that Killie haven't lost a goal at home, which is the clean sheet I was referring to. Join the debate
1428: "Allan McGregor is lacking the performance levels he gave Rangers last season, which is why he's been dropped, whereas Kirk Broadfoot has demonstrated he thoroughly deserves to be here. As long as Kirk continues on that form, he'll continue to do well at Rangers." Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist on Sportsound.
1420: "This is a one-off game with nothing to lose, Mark McGhee is quite right to go out and have a go." BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds at Ibrox.
1416: "This weekend should address any queries over who is Scotland's number one. Gordon has a brilliant game with some great saves and a clean sheet in an EPL derby, McGregor dropped for having a ropey start to the SPL season. Gordon, in more ways than one, is a different league." GlasgowJambo1987 on My Sport. Join the debate
1410: "It's not as if McGregor is unfit, but he did make that Frazer Wright blunder at the Kilmarnock game. He's definitely been dropped." BBC Sportsound reporter Chick Young.
1405: Some shock team news from Ibrox, goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been dropped in favour of Neil Alexander. Full team lists from Motherwell and Rangers soon. Rate the players
1404: "Could be tricky games for both halves of the Old Firm. I'll be off to Ibrox very shortly myself and don't expect it to be easy for the Gers." Bluesea on My Sport Join the debate
1403: Here we go for an unusual Sunday in the Scottish Premier League with Celtic and Rangers both playing their matches on the same day.
First up, we've got Rangers playing host to Motherwell at Ibrox with Walter Smith's side yet to lose a match in the league so far this season. Can Mark McGhee's men bounce back from their narrow defeat to Nancy in the Uefa Cup? Kick-off at Ibrox is at 1500 BST.
At 1600 BST, Celtic will be hoping to put their midweek Champions League woes behind them as Kilmarnock aim to hold on to their unbeaten league run (and clean sheet, let's not forget) at Rugby Park.
