By Thomas McGuigan

1716: Well then, Hearts sneak in at the back post to claim second spot in the SPL.

And Derek Riordan steers Hibs to victory with his first goal since returning for his second spell at the club.

St Mirren and Falkirk have to settle for a point, while Dundee United's victory over Aberdeen seems like a lifetime ago.

Thanks for your company and your comments throughout the day. I'm off to give my fingers a rest.

You can still add your views on today's games on My Sport and vote on the player rater

Cheers!

1705: "We should be beating teams like Hamilton if we're wanting top six. Just realised if Rangers put a few past 'Well tomorrow we're off the bottom on goal difference!"

1656: "With his goal today, Derek Riordan has shown that, when he's fit, he'll be a good player for Hibs this season."
BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Duffy

1654: Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo slumps back onto his seat in the dugout after the final whistle at Tynecastle. Taking a long drink from a bottle of juice, he wears the expression of a man who's just run a marathon in his suit.

The pressures of management, indeed.

1652: FULL-TIME Hearts 1-0 Inverness Hearts move up to second spot in the SPL.

1651: FULL-TIME Hamilton 0-1 Hibs Derek Riordan's goal gives Hibs their second away win of the season

1650: FULL-TIME St Mirren 1-1 Falkirk

1647: Three added minutes at Love Street.

1643: Inverness manager Craig Brewster shouts some tactical instructions to his charges with three minutes remaining at Tynecastle. Their attacks are becoming more desperate.

1639: No sign of a winning goal at Love Street... yet.

1635: "Some of the Hamilton passing has been very sloppy. They are making too many elementary mistakes."
BBC Sport summariser Jim Duffy

Accies boss Billy Reid responds by sending on all three of his substitutes. Offiong, Graham and Sorsa troop off, with Corcoran, Ettien and Thomas coming on.

1632: "You sense that an equaliser is in the offing for Hamilton."
BBC Radio Scotland commentator John Barnes.

1630: "Canning has a point to prove. I remember when Hibs could control a game" OtterTom on My Sport

Will he be able to help Accies grab a late equaliser?

1625: With just over 25 minutes remaining, if the scores remain the same then Hearts would move up to second place and a point behind leaders Rangers.

Edinburgh rivals Hibs would leapfrog Hamilton into fourth and Falkirk would remain bottom of the table.

1621: As things stand I'd take a healthy seven predictor points from this afternoon's three games. But this always comes back to haunt me with a flurry of late goals.

I can't really expect the referee's to blow for full-time early can I?

1620: "Hearts have lost their fluidity they had in the first half, it's Caley Thistle who are pushing and searching for a goal."
BBC Radio Sportsound pundit Stevie Frail.

1613: Ian Murray is lighting up New Douglas Park with an impressive display for Hibs. You reckon he's top dog at the moment. Over at Tynecastle Hearts captain Christophe Berra is the stand-out.

What about the players at Love Street? Use our player rater to register your vote Rate the players

1609: Hibs striker Colin Nish, who picked up an ankle knock in the first half, is replaced by Steven Pinau. Will we have another super sub for the visitors?

1607: "The second half has started on fire!"
BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

Anybody still stuck in the pie queue at Love Street must be cursing their luck!

1606: GOAL St Mirren 1-1 Falkirk Billy Mehmet equalises from the penalty spot after firing the ball high to Robert Olejnik's left to level the game.

1604: GOAL St Mirren 0-1 Falkirk Graham Barrett heads John Hughes' side into the lead at Love Street with his first goal of the season.

1602: The second half gets under way at our three SPL games

1601: "Miko's been in form recently, a (good) goal for Lithuania and two goals for Hearts. Where did that come from?" AndriusG on My Sport

Csaba Laszlo will be hoping its the start of a goal glut for the midfielder.

1552: "Good win for United but doesn't sound as if the performance level improved at all which worries me. United just don't create chances, we miss Noel Hunt and Barry Robson big-style!" SirAdrianSmythe on My Sport
Join the debate

I think that's a good point. Hunt was a real handful for defences in the SPL and Robson's drive was missing in midfield at Pittodrie. Still, at least United are back to winning ways.

1547: HALF-TIME at New Douglas Park, Love Street and Tynecastle

1546: "Mon the Bairns, got us down for a 2-1 win on the predictor, hope to god I'm right for a change" KrisBairn06 on My Sport

I've went for a 1-1 draw at Love Street. And I really need the predictor points after a bruising zero from the match at Pittodrie.

1543: Things have went a bit quiet down My Sport way. Anybody care to share their views on Derek Riordan's triumphant return to Hibs?

What about Dundee United fans delighted with their win at Pittodrie, or dispirited Dons angry at the lunchtime defeat?

1539: GOAL Hamilton 0-1 Hibs Derek Riordan scores his first goal since returning for his second spell at Easter Road.

Riordan had replaced the injured Steven Fletcher and found the net within 45 seconds of coming on. Good work!

1537: Hearts labour to repel a dangerous Inverness attack and the ball seems to spend an age in the penalty area before being cleared. That was like a scene from an U10s game!

1535: "John Hughes is holding three fingers up to Lee Bullen. Are Falkirk considering going to three at the back?" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Steve Cowan

I'd be more concerned if Yogi was holding up two fingers.

1534: "I've been impressed by the movement of Hibs strikers Colin Nish and Steven Fletcher and Ian Murray is holding things together nicely in midfield" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Jim Duffy

1532: "Marian Kello seems to be a good acquisition. He made some confident catches at the start when Hearts were dodgy, and has had a few good saves since. Are we sure he came from Kaunus?" GlasgowJambo1987 on My Sport

1528: Hibs captain Rob Jones misjudges a simple long ball and Accies striker Richard Offiong latches on to it only to shoot weakly at Yves Ma-Kalambay. A "sclaff", according to BBC Radio Scotland commentator John Barnes.

1524: "Andy Dorman's challenge on Darren Barr was almost chin-high, but there was no malice" BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

1523: "Will Haining flashes a header wide for St Mirren after Andy Dorman's ball in" BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

1522: "Hearts have definitely got their foot on the game and look as though they could score more" BBC Sportsound pundit Stevie Frail

1516: "Falkirk can't cope with Jim Hamilton's physical and aerial presence" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Steve Cowan

1513: Hibs striker Colin Nish crashes a header off the underside of the crossbar and the home side scramble the ball to safety.

1510: Hibs midfielder Dean Shiels scoops a shot over the crossbar from 16 yards after nice build-up work from John Rankin and David Van Zanten.

1507: GOAL Hearts 1-0 Inverness Saulius Mikoliunas fires Hearts in front at Tynecastle. Ksanavicius threads a great ball through to Mikoliunas and he slides the ball past Fraser into the net.

1503: Simon Mensing curls a shot narrowly wide as Hamilton Accies make a bright start at New Douglas Park.

1500: We're under way in the three SPL games.

1456: TEAMS - Hearts: Kello, Jonsson, Zaliukas, Berra, Lee Wallace, Mikoliunas, Stewart, Kingston, Karipidis, Ksanavicius, Mole. Subs: MacDonald, Palazuelos, Nade, Mrowiec, Thomson, Rapnik,Glen.

Inverness CT: Fraser, Tokely, McGuire, Munro, Hastings, Cowie, Black, McBain, Imrie, Rooney, Barrowman. Subs: Esson, Djebi-Zadi, Wilson, McAllister, Wood, Duff, Vigurs.

1455: TEAMS - Hamilton: Cerny, Mensing, Elebert, Canning, Easton, Graham, McCarthy, Neil, McArthur, Offiong, Sorsa. Subs: Murdoch, Swailes, Casement, Corcoran, Lyle, Thomas, Ettien.

Hibernian: Ma-Kalambay, van Zanten, Jones, Hogg, Stevenson, Keenan, Rankin, Shiels, Murray, Fletcher, Nish. Subs: McNeil, Yantorno, Chisholm, Hanlon, Pinau, McCormack, Riordan.

St Mirren: Howard, Ross, Haining, Potter, Miranda, Mason, Brady, Dorman, Robb, Hamilton, Mehmet. Subs: Smith, Murray, Wyness, Dargo, McAusland, McGinn, Cuthbert.

Falkirk: Olejnik, McNamara, Barr, Bullen, Scobbie, Arfield, McBride, O'Brien, McCann, Barrett, Higdon. Subs: Flinders, Cregg, Lovell, Aafjes, Mark Stewart, McCaffrey, Lynch.

1430: Thirty minutes until we get under way in today's three other SPL games. Hamilton and Hearts are vying for second spot when they take on Hibernian and Inverness, respectively. And St Mirren host Johh Hughes' Falkirk.

Stay with me! A brisk walk round the living room, a couple of star jumps or a cup of tea. A quick refreshment and we'll get our teeth into today's remaining games.

1429: Dundee United's goal hero Fernando Sandaza (7.38) celebrates a late charge in the player rater and you reckon he was the pick of the bunch at Pittodrie. Remember, you can still vote after the final whistle. Rate the players

1426: "Aberdeen may look back at the three missed chances for Gary McDonald, but this is a great result for Dundee United" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson

Victory sees United move off the bottom of the table up to ninth - two points behind the Dons.

1422: Some Aberdeen fans vent their fury as their players limp off the pitch to the sound of jeers. An insipid display by the Dons sees United win their first league game in 13.

1421: FULL-TIME Aberdeen 0-1 Dundee United

1420: Scott Severin tries a David Beckham-style lob over Zaluska but the ball drifts wide.

1418: Gary McDonald shoots high over the bar after pouncing on Zaluska's fisted clearance.

1417: Three minutes of stoppage time for Aberdeen to rescue a point.

1415: United fans urge their team forward for what would surely be a killer second goal.

1413: Charlie Mulgrew balloons a free-kick over the bar, but you say he's still head and shoulders above the rest. Rate the players

1410: Into the final 10 minutes at Pittodrie and the increasingly animated Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood is like a cat on a hot tin roof on the touchline.

1408: "There have been too many passes in Aberdeen's attacks and they are letting United's defenders get back." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson

1406: Aberdeen midfielder Scott Severin crumples in the box under a heavy challenge from Sean Dillon. The Dons fans clear their throats for a collective boo, but it looked a fair challenge to me.

1357: United goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska produces a smart save to deny Aberdeen substitute Darren Mackie. Aberdeen are warming to the task now.

1355: "Surely it's time to stop calling this game the New Firm derby. It's 25 years since these sides bettered the Old Firm. How about the 'plod thru 90 minutes derby'?" Tonyjb35 on My Sport
Join the debate

Or what about the Terence Trent Darby? Okay, I'll get my coat...

1352: Just over 25 minutes left for Aberdeen to salvage something from the game. United look to be heading for their first league win in 13 games. Lucky for some?

1349: Despite firing United in front and looking dangerous, you reckon Francisco Sandaza (6.67) isn't the best on show at Pittodrie. Aberdeen defender Charlie Mulgrew (7.50) is still the star man on the player rater
Rate the players

1348: Tommy Wright trudges off to be replaced by Darren Mackie. Not a great day at the office for the former Darlington hitman.

1345: "Well that'll the three points going south. The Dons need a manager who can motivate them"
Pedroscalls on My SportJoin the debate

1342: Tommy Wright spurns a great chance to make amends for his penalty box madness when he fires wide. Cue groans from the Aberdeen fans. Jimmy Calderwood, shielding his eyes from the sun; like Michael Caine in Zulu, looks for inspiration. But tt's in short supply from the men in red.

1336: "What was Tommy Wright was thinking of there? Crass stupidity" BBC Radio Scotland commentator Scott Davie's reaction to Wright's volleyball in the box.

1335: GOAL Aberdeen 0-1 Dundee United. Francisco Sandaza coolly slots home the penalty. United take the lead with their first effort on target.

1334: Penalty for Dundee United. Aberdeen striker Tommy Wright suffers a rush of blood to the head and raises a hand to strike the ball inside the box. That was like a line-out move in a Six Nations clash. Bizarre.

1332: The second-half gets under way at Pittodrie.

1325: "What has happened to Utd? I live about two seconds from Pittodrie, but I couldn't bring myself to go see us play today because we're just playing rubbish."

On the first-half showing, you're a wise man James. Not too much to shout about, but hopefully things will improve after the break.

1318: "Very poor. We were talking about a 3-3 draw before kick-off. But this is hopeless. Both sides look frightened to play football"
BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo McLeod's succinct assessment of a poor first half.

1317: Half-time at Pittodrie.

1312: A shot and a save. Be still my beating heart! Chris Maguire fires in a shot which is brilliantly saved by Zaluska and Gary McDonald blazes over the rebound. Jimmy Calderwood does a wee jig of frustration on the touchline. Still no goals, but we're getting closer.

1310: You reckon Aberdeen defender Charlie Mulgrew is the cream of the crop so far in the New Firm derby. Vote for your favourite here

1308: ...not yet. Plenty of endeavour on show in the sun at Pittodrie, but little in the way of craft. Aberdeen will be disappointed not to have taken the lead yet but they're lacking a cutting edge.

1306: Aberdeen force two corners within a minute. Surely someone is going to hit the target soon...

1300: Thirty minutes gone and we're still waiting for either goalkeeper at Pittodrie to be called into action. Remember, you can vote on who is catching your eye by using our player rater.

1255: Aberdeen defender Richard Foster heads over his own bar from the six-yard box as United launch their first serious foray forward.

1250: Aberdeen's Sone Aluko scoops a free-kick high over the bar. Much to the annoyance of manager Jimmy Calderwood. Golfer Paul Lawrie would've been proud of that chip!

1245: "I predict a boring 1-1 draw in the Aberdeen vs Dundee United game"
Flyingthecabbage on My Sport. Join the debate

That would suit me! I've went for that score in the predictor.

1244: Aberdeen have United pinned in their own half for much of the opening 15 minutes but haven't made their pressure pay.

1241: Scottish golfer Paul Lawrie is sitting in the stand alongside the Aberdeen fans at a sun-kissed Pittodrie. I wonder what he makes of the mauling Europe suffered in the first day of the Ryder Cup?

1240: "I've been very impressed by the tempo of the game so far. Not sure if they can keep it up."
BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson

1237: "Time for the mighty Bairns to take strides towards that coveted top six spot. The lads will need double-sided shin pads for a visit to Paisley mind you!" Join the debate on 606IroningBru on My Sport

1230: We're under way at Pittodrie.

1227: TEAMS: Aberdeen: Langfield, Foster, Diamond, Severin, Mulgrew, Maguire, McDonald, Kerr, Aluko, Wright, Miller. Subs: Bossu, Mackie, Young, Hodgkiss, De Visscher, Mair, Stuart Smith.

Dundee Utd: Zaluska, Kovacevic, Wilkie, Dods, Dillon, Buaben, Scott Robertson, Gomis, Conway, Daly, Sandaza. Subs: McGovern, David Robertson, Swanson, Kenneth, Dixon, Goodwillie, McCord.

1210 BST: Afternoon everyone. Today's SPL is an Old Firm free-zone. With Celtic and Rangers not in action until tomorrow, eyes turn to the New Firm derby at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen entertain SPL basement side Dundee United in the lunchtime kick-off, before another three games at three o'clock.

United have gone 12 games without a league win, while Aberdeen won their two games against Craig Levein's side at Pittodrie last season.

Can United get back to winning ways? I want to hear what you think - and that includes all the Old Firm fans eager to avoid an afternoon trudging round the shops!

So, get the kettle on, find a comfy spot on the couch and give us your thoughts as the action unfolds Join the debate on My Sport
