Bangor City 3-2 Port Talbot Town

Welsh Cup

Dave Morley's injury time header ensured Bangor City lifted the Welsh Cup for the third successive year at Llanelli's Parc Y Scarlets.

Lee Hunt put the Citizens ahead on six minutes after an error by Town keeper Lee Kendall, and Jamie Reed doubled the lead nine minutes later.

But Town rallied after the break, Drew Fahiya firing home before Liam McCreesh levelled with six minutes left.

It was all in vane though as Morley rose highest to head home a free kick.

Bangor are just the sixth team in the Welsh Cup's 133-year history to complete a hat-trick of victories - the last was Barry Town's three successive wins between 2001 and 2003.

Bangor manager Neville Powell: "It looked like Port Talbot were going to come back and win it but one thing these players have got is guts and work.

"This means so much to so many people and these lads have been fantastic all season and got what they deserved.

"We're back in Europe where we should be and it rounds of a great season for us."

Port Talbot manager Mark Jones: "We made a bad start to the game but my boys showed their spirit, they're great fighters and I thought when we came back to 2-2 we only needed extra time because their legs have gone.

"But you've got to give them great credit as they've gone up the other end and got the winner.

"I couldn't ask any more from my boys, I'm not going to make any excuses, just congratulate the three-times champions."
