The New Saints' Mike Davies is looking to the side to lift the Welsh Cup
The New Saints have targeted winning the Welsh Cup to ensure a favourable start in Europe next season.
"The winners will start in the second qualifying round of the Europa Cup, the new Uefa Cup," TNS assistant manager Mike Davies told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"That's a big incentive, as it's a round further ahead than for finishing second or third in the league."
Saints look unlikely to prise the title from Rhyl or Llanelli, so have stressed their commitment to the Welsh Cup.

In the fourth round (Sat 31 January, 1400 GMT) they host Carmarthen - the side one place below them in fourth spot in the Welsh Premier.
"They made it hard for us when we played there earlier in the season and it'll be another tough game," Davies added.
"We certainly want to win the Welsh Cup. Lifting a trophy is what every footballer plays for."
