TNS to donate money to charities

Mike Harris
Harris wants to develop The New Saints as a local benefactor

The New Saints have pledged to plough 50,000 into local charities and good causes in the Oswestry area.

The initiative is the brainchild of managing director Mike Harris.

"We see our club as an important part of the community and we want to give something back to that community," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

The official launch of the scheme ahead of the Saints' Welsh Cup game with Penrhyncoch tied in with Harris inviting applications for help.

Harris, who has funded the club in its various guises and the development of the Park Hall Stadium in Oswestry, has promised that any requests for help - large or small - will be considered.
