TNS aim for Oswestry Euro debut

Jonathan Martin
Martin wants TNS to play at home

The New Saints have applied for planning permission to build a 1,000-seater stand in a bid to play European football in Oswestry.

"It'll be a close call, but we really want to play our UEFA Cup tie at home," Saints' director Jonathan Martin told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I'm told it'll take a month to build the stand, which is pretty tight for the game in mid-July."

The Park Hall stadium, in England, is seen by UEFA as part of Welsh football.

If Saints cannot get the stand built in time the club's 'home' leg will be played at Newtown.
