The New Saints manager Ken McKenna renewed the call for summer football after his side's Champions League exit. "It's the same as last year," he said after a 2-1 loss at FK Venstpils saw them draw the two-leg first qualifying round 4-4 but go out on away goals.
"We did really well in the first leg and struggled in the second. It's disappointing, but it's our pre-season.
"I'm 100% certain that if the roles were reversed we would have won these games comfortably."

McKenna had no complaints about the result in Latvia on the night.
"The best team won the game, I just wish my lads believed in themselves more," he told BBC Sport Wales.
"We could have scored six against them at home and have taken a comfortable lead into the second leg.
"But it was another big game, and we gained more experience in a hostile atmosphere."
Barry Town remain the only team from the Welsh Premier to have reached the second qualifying stage of Europe's premier club competition.
Then-manager Peter Nicholas took Barry to victory over FC Shamkir in the first round in 2001.
