*Agg 4-4, Ventspils go through on away goals

The New Saints' Champions League dreams were ended by the away-goal rule after a narrow defeat in Latvia.

Leading 3-2 from the first leg in Newtown, the Saints saw Ventspils' Jean Paul Ndeki power in a header from a corner from the left after 20 minutes.

The lead was doubled by a Denis Kacanov header from a corner after the break.

Martyn Naylor pulled back a last-minute free kick for Saints to level the aggregate scores, but Ventspils advance to meet FC Salzburg in the next round.
