Chad Bond sent Port Talbot through to the quarter-finals of the FAW Premier Cup with an extra-time winner. Lee Hunt, who had missed a great chance in a tight first half, put Rhyl ahead on 60 minutes.
Captain Matthew Rees scrambled in the equaliser after 76 minutes when Rhyl failed to clear a corner to take the game into extra time.
Bond put Port Talbot ahead in the first period of extra time and the home side held on despite heavy Rhyl pressure.
