Former Wales and Manchester United star Clayton Blackmore has taken over as player-manager at Bangor City. Blackmore, 41, has been playing for the Welsh Premier side for the past five years and succeeds ex-Utd team-mate Peter Davenport who quit last month.
Mel Jones, who has been in temporary charge since Davenport's resignation, will be Blackmore's assistant.
"I'm here to win things and finish as high up the league as we can," Blackmore told BBC Wales Sport.
"This is my first senior job. I've been with Wales Under-16 and Under-21 so this is a new challenge for me.
"And as long as I'm fit, I'll be out there on the pitch leading from the front."
Bangor have slipped down to ninth place in the Welsh Premier table after going three games without a win.
And with league leaders the visitors to Farrar Road in his first game on Sunday, Blackmore knows his inexperienced side will have to be at their best to end that run.
"TNS are the best team in the league and they will win it this year," Blackmore told BBC Wales Sport.
"We're down to the bare bones. We've only got four fit defenders and three of those are under 20 years of age.
"So we're up against it at the moment, but we've showed enough spirit in the last few games to do well.
"Our main priority is to finish in the top eight to qualify for next season's FAW Premier Cup. Hopefully we'll also get a good run in the Welsh Cup and maybe win it."
