By Caroline Cheese

2211: That'll be it then. Thanks as always for your contributions. DJ Spoony is taking your calls on BBC Radio 5 Live's 606. Tune in tomorrow for a Uefa Cup extravaganza.

2209: "Great draw for the Toffees. First game away. That's a big advantage."
ypsylon on 606

2207: "Any game is not easy. Everton are very good this year. It's not easy to play against them. It's not easy for us - but not for them either."
Chelsea boss Avram Grant

2205: SEMI-FINAL DRAW
Chelsea v Everton
Arsenal v Tottenham
* Teams drawn first play first leg at home

2203: "Re 2157: Well said Rafa. Still, I think it was stupid from Crouch."
Torres' right peg on 606

2200: The draw is coming up: Chelsea join Spurs, Everton and Arsenal in the hat. Only Everton didn't reach the same stage last year.

2157: "The big difference was the sending-off. If you protect Crouch before, you avoid the sending-off. If you have a player behind you kicking you twice, sometimes you lose your head."
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez on Crouch's red card

2155: No one's really caught your eye tonight if BBC Sport's interactive player rater is anything to go by. Ryan Babel - controversially substituted by Rafa Benitez - just about leads the way on 6.80.

2150: "Both teams had chances but I think we had the better of them. We felt if we kept going it was a matter of time before we scored. It was a huge game especially after losing against Arsenal on Sunday."
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard

2147: Looking at the texts and 606, there isn't a a lot of sympathy for Peter Crouch going around. It will be interesting to hear what Rafa Benitez says about it.

2145: Bayern Munich's crushing 6-0 win over Greek side Aris coupled with Braga's 2-0 victory over Red Star means Bolton finish third in Uefa Cup Group F. Gary Megson's side will face a winner from one of the other groups in the last 32.

2144: Stay tuned for the draw coming up.

2142: FULL-TIME Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool
'Blue is the Colour' rings out at Stamford Bridge as holders Chelsea book their place in the semi-finals thanks to a deflected goal from Frank Lampard and Andriy Shevchenko's effort.

2141: That's Andriy Shevchenko's last action of the match and he is replaced by Steve Sidwell as Chelsea run down the clock.

2139: GOAL Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool
Wayne Bridge seems to have taken far too long to get his cross in but he eventually gets the ball across and Michael Ballack's header reaches Andriy Shevchenko and he squeezes the ball home, beating Charles Itandje at his near post.

2136: Three minutes to go at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Getafe beat Anderlecht 2-1 in the Uefa Cup meaning Spurs finish second in Group G and will play one of the teams who came third in the Champions League group stage.

2135: This is a rather hapless cameo from Joe Cole. First, he screws a shot well wide from a good position then a couple of minutes later, he has plenty of time to measure a pass but only manages to hit a Liverpool defender.

2131: Salomon Kalou skips past the defender on the left and cuts the ball back for Andriy Shevchenko. The striker's volley is well-struck but team-mate Frank Lampard is in the way of it.

2128: Liverpool work the ball out to Nabil El Zhar but the youngster's shot dribbles wide. Disappointing really.

2124: "Taking Babel off? Ridiculous decision he's been our best player."
CCBAWTCRP(OSC) on 606

2123: "Yesterday both teams with 10 men won. Come on the Pool!"
Olly, Beds, via text on 81111

2121: Ryan Babel can start his 21st birthday celebrations early. He's off to be replaced by Yossi Benayoun.

2120: Chelsea winger Joe Cole passes straight to... Rafa Benitez on the touchline. The Liverpool boss's control lets him down though.

2118: "Peter Crouch obviously wants his Christmas off."
Chris, Leeds, via text on 81111

2116: Here comes Michael Ballack to make his first appearance since April. His arrival, in place of Jon Obi Mikel, is greeted by warm applause from the Stamford Bridge faithful.

2113: In the Uefa Cup, Braga are now 2-0 up and with Bayern Munich winning 4-0 thanks to four Luca Toni strikes, it means Bolton will finish third in their group - and face a group winner.

2112: It's not getting any better for Liverpool. They have a half-chance with a free-kick but Ryan Babel's effort goes out of play for a throw-in.

2111: "Well that was an easy decision for the referee, I have no idea what Crouch was trying to do there. Awful tackle."
WillParishLFC on 606

2108: RED CARD Liverpool
What a terrible two minutes for Liverpool. Peter Crouch launches himself into a two-footed tackle on Jon Obi Mikel by the touchline and Martin Atkinson has no hesitation in producing the red card.

2107: GOAL Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool
Andriy Shevchenko chests the ball down for Frank Lampard whose shot takes a massive deflection off Jamie Carragher and loops over the stranded Charles Itandje. Unlucky for Liverpool - but Chelsea won't care.

2106: Chelsea boss Avram Grant makes his first change, with Joe Cole replacing Scott Sinclair.

2104: It's end to end now. A let-off for Chelsea as Ricardo Carvalho's weak back-header only plays in Peter Crouch, whose attempted lob is parried by Petr Cech. Chelsea go straight up the other end with Frank Lampard setting up Salomon Kalou but his swerving shot drifts wide.

2102: The ball breaks for Michael Essien on the edge of the box but his fierce right-foot shot is brilliantly saved by Liverpool keeper Charles Itandje. The atmosphere is heating up at Stamford Bridge.

2101: Salomon Kalou is causing Liverpool problems again down the left. This time he squares to an unmarked Frank Lampard, but the England midfielder blazes high over the bar.

2100: Salomon Kalou goes on a decent run down the inside left channel but is eventually stopped as he get to the edge of a penalty area. Meanwhile, Getafe are 2-0 up which means Tottenham look highly likely to finish second in Uefa Cup Group G.

2054: Broken foot victim John Terry hobbles to his seat with the help of crutches in time to see the second half kick off.

2052: Out come the players for the second half. All sorts of gloves, 'skins' and winter wear going on. As someone pointed out the other day, you never see the officials wearing gloves or anything do you?

2046: It seems not everyone agrees with Lokaka90 (see below). Momo is currently on a paltry 5.84 on BBC Sport's interactive player rater - although he's by no means the worst performer according to you lot. That 'honour' goes to Chelsea defender Tal Ben Haim.

2042: "Lay off Sissoko, he is a defensive player, a superb athlete, and plays for the badge. He is breaking up play in the midfield and going a good job to keep the Chelsea attacks at bay."
Lokaka90 on 606

2036: HALF-TIME Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
An evenly-matched stalemate.

2034: That's probably not what Liverpool fans wanted to see. A Reds midfielder breaks into the box - but it's Momo Sissoko and he falls over the ball.

2031: The referee's patience with Liverpool midfielder Lucas runs out and the Brazilian follows Xabi Alonso into the book after a series of fouls.

2030: "I do wish Momo Sissoko would stop treating the football as if it's a dangerous object to be got rid of and passed to the opposition at the earliest opportunity."
Im_partial on 606

2028: It's all looking rosy for Bolton. Bayern Munich are 2-0 up thanks to a Luca Toni double. As long as the German side win, Bolton will be through to the last 32.

2024: Nice work from Scott Sinclair, nutmegging the defender and driving into the box but he can't get his pass away and Liverpool recover.

2023: "Mikel and Essien need to get into the game more."
Bluestopfan on 606

2020: Scott Sinclair makes a darting run into the penalty area but his eventual cross is blocked by Alvaro Arbeloa and the corner comes to nothing.

2017: Bayern Munich are a goal up against Aris Salonika. That's good news for Bolton, who will qualify for the last 32 of the Uefa Cup as it stands.

2015: Suddenly it's all action. Andriy Voronin plays a smart one-two with Peter Crouch then sets up Lucas, whose shot is well saved by Petr Cech. The two best chances of the match in the space of three minutes.

2013: Jack Hobbs gives the ball away and it eventually breaks for Frank Lampard but Liverpool keeper Charles Itandje is alert to the danger and saves the England midfielder's chipped shot.

2012: It's classic Chelsea-Liverpool at the moment. All a bit stale. But as I say that, Xabi Alonso livens things up going for a drive from 50 yards. It's wide.

2011: Frank Lampard produces a dangerous corner from the left which Jamie Carragher does well to glance wide, with Salomon Kalou waiting to connect.

2007: "Watch out for Liverpool's Lucas, the lad is class!"
Lee, Derbyshire, via text on 81111

2003: Ryan Babel breaks down the left and cuts into the penalty area but his attempt to square the ball to Lucas is blocked. He might have taken a shot instead.

2001: A lovely move from Chelsea. Juliano Belletti finds Andriy Shevchenko in the inside right channel and he cuts the ball back for Salomon Kalou - whose shot is parried by Charles Itandje.

2000: It's not been a great start to the night for British clubs in the Uefa Cup. Getafe lead Anderlecht and if that stays the same, Tottenham would finish second in Group G. Braga lead Red Star Belgrade 1-0 which is potentially bad news for Bolton. See 1925 GMT for the complicated stuff.

1955: Lucas's late tackle on Andriy Shevchenko gives Chelsea a free-kick about 25 yards out. Frank Lampard's effort hits the wall.

1954: "Chelsea have made the better start. They just seem a bit sharper to the ball and Andriy Shevchenko is making some good runs."
BBC Radio 5 Live analyst Terry Butcher

1950: Away we go finally.

1949: A slight delay to proceedings as linesman Paul Norman limps off with what looks like a hamstring injury. Not often you see that is it? Fourth official Peter Walton - who has only just arrived because of the traffic - replaces him and Jarnail Singh steps in for Walton.

1943: Incidentally, the draw for the semi-finals follows this match so stay tuned.

1942: An accident on the M40 has caused long tailbacks, leaving fans - particularly those from Liverpool - scrambling to make the kick-off. Despite that, the match is set to get going on time. The teams are heading on to the pitch.

1940: "Liverpool to win in extra time. MARK MY WORDS."
mysteriousblablabla on 606

1937: Rafa Benitez says he has enjoyed the quiet build-up to this game without Jose Mourinho around. "It's better for everyone I think," says the Spaniard. Not everyone, Rafa. not everyone.

1934: "It's actually not that weak a Liverpool side, just that four to five sure starters aren't there. It's just more back-ups than ressies."
redconn on 606

1931: Avram Grant is asked if he was pleased when he saw Liverpool's line-up. "No, we're concentrating on our team," he replies. Thanks Avram.

1925: But it's not all Carling Cup, Carling Cup, Carling Cup you know. There's the little matter of the Uefa Cup. Bolton are currently top of Group F having finished their campaign but they could be overtaken tonight. Basically: they'll qualify unless Bayern Munich draw with Salonika and Braga beat Red Star by more than a goal.

1920: Then again, Liverpool have won just once in 21 visits to Stamford Bridge - Bruno Cheyrou scoring the winner in January 2004.

1918: You have to go back to 2005 for the last time Chelsea beat Liverpool in a cup competition, when the Blues won 3-2 to lift the Carling Cup - Jose Mourinho's first trophy in English football. Since then, Liverpool have twice prevailed in the Champions League and once in the FA Cup.

1912: "Chelsea, as expected, are playing pretty much a full team. Liverpool have a pretty much second string sqaud out. Based on that I think the odds are well and truly in Chelsea's favour."
goonerdogg on 606

1908: So Xabi Alonso returns for Liverpool after 10 weeks out, while Michael Ballack is on the bench for Chelsea after eight months out. Liverpool are expected to play 4-3-3 with Crouch, Voronin and Babel forming the attack.

1906: TEAM NEWS
Seven changes for Chelsea, nine for Liverpool.
Chelsea: Cech, Belletti, Ben Haim, Carvalho, Bridge, Essien, Mikel, Lampard, Kalou, Shevchenko, Sinclair
Liverpool: Itandje, Arbeloa, Carragher, Hobbs, Aurelio, Babel, Lucas, Sissoko, Alonso, Crouch, Voronin

1900: For tonight's BBC Sport e-commentary cocktail, simply add a large dose of Carling Cup and just a dash of Uefa Cup. Mmmmm.
