George McMullan scores twice as Cliftonville beat Dungannon Swifts to maintain a 100% Carling Premiership record

George McMullan bagged a double at Seaview as the Reds made it two wins from two Carling Premiership games.

Liam Boyce, in what is expected to be his last Cliftonville game before joining German side SpVgg Greuther, hit the side-netting after two minutes.

Reds keeper John Connolly kept out Mark McCann's shot before McMullan fired in from seven yards after 35 minutes.

The midfielder sealed the points with a superb free-kick into the top corner with 20 minutes left.

A flick-on from Barry Holland's throw-in set up McMullan for the opener.

It was an even first half but the Swifts failed to muster a comeback after the break.

Conor Forker saw his 68th minute shot saved by Connolly but the visitors rarely threatened.

Boyce was cheered off the field by the Reds faithful after being substituted with a minute left as his switch to SpVgg Greuther moves closer to completion.

The win takes Eddie Patterson's side up to tied second with Glenavon in the table and behind leaders Glentoran on goal difference.
