Winger Francis Murphy is on the lookout for pastures new after parting company with Cliftonville by mutual consent.

The 30-year-old spent three years at Solitude but decided that he wanted "a fresh challenge" after holding talks with Reds manager Eddie Patterson.

The former Lisburn Distillery player is believed to be attracting attention from Newry City and Donegal Celtic.

Meanwhile Linfield boss David Jeffrey says his club are no nearer to signing Peter Thompson on a permanent deal.
