Referee Raymond Crangle tries to restore order at Newry Showgrounds

The Irish Football Association has dismissed Newry City's appeal against a £800 fine imposed after the brawl in the Irish Cup game with Larne.

The IFA Appeals Board said it had "acted fully in line with regulations and procedures" when punishing the club following violent scenes on 16 January.

Larne were fined £1,200 but the club decided not to appeal.

The IFA has still to decide if either team should play against Loughgall in the sixth round.

The Irish Cup fifth round match between the clubs at the Newry Showgrounds was abandoned after fighting broke out on the pitch.

In addition to the fines Larne's Anthony Lagan was banned until 31 May with Robert White and Brian Neeson both suspended for two games and fined £75 each.

Larne manager Paul Millar got a four-game ban and Newry's Cullen Feeney was banned for two games and fined £75.
