Rory Patterson scores four goals as Coleraine crush champions Glentoran 6-0.
Coleraine's Rory Patterson scored four goals as Carling Premiership champions Glentoran crashed to an incredible defeat at the Oval.
Former Glens player Darren Boyce drilled in the opener in the 15th minute and then Patterson netted a spectacular long-range shot.
Patterson forced his way past Sean Ward to finish well on 53 minutes and he got another from Stephen Carson's pass.
The striker went clear for his fourth before Carson wrapped up the rout.
Glentoran fans in the main stand booed their team off the pitch and some later gathered outside the main entrance to stage a protest.
To make matters worse for the Glens, their rivals Linfield won 6-0 away to Newry to move five points clear of second-placed Crsuaders.
Glentoran are in third, six points behind Linfield.
