Linfield moved to within one point of Carling Premiership leaders Crusaders by beating Glenavon at Mourneview Park.

Paul Munster edged the Belfast side into the lead in the 48th minute, reacting quickest after Jim Ervin had drilled the ball into the penalty area.

Linfield doubled their lead 10 minutes later with Billy Joe Burns setting up Jamie Tomelty to score at the far post.

Glenavon gave themselves hope when Gary Liggett headed in on 73 minutes but they could not find an equaliser.
