An 83rd minute goal by substitute Jason Blackburn gave Institute a 1-0 win over league leaders Crusaders at Drumahoe.
Aaron Black shot over and Jordan Owens headed over from 12 yards for Crusaders in the first half while Paul Brown fired wide for the home side.
Blackburn scored the winner for Institute when he intercepted a pass, skipped away and outpaced Colin Coates, before blasting past Chris Keenan.
David Rainey had the ball in the net in added time but the offside flag was up.
The Crues are still one point ahead of Dungannon at the top of the table while Institute remain in 11th place.
