Coleraine's Jody Tolan tries to get past Institute keeper Gavin Cullen
Coleraine took all the points in the north-west derby with an assured victory over Institute.
Rory Patterson saw a penalty saved by Gavin Cullen before an unmarked Jody Tolan netted from six yards from Stephen Carson's cross on 23 minutes.
The visitors levelled 10 minutes into the second half through Austin Friel's low drive and Gareth Tommons put the home side ahead on 77 minutes.
Patterson got a third in injury time to give Coleraine their first win in five.
Institute, who lie second bottom in the Carling Premiership, started the first half brightly and should have gone ahead in the opening minutes but Declin Divin's header could only find the top of the bar.
Coleraine responded immediately and were thwarted by Institute keeper Cullen from the penalty spot after Shaun Holmes had brought down Patterson just inside the area.
The home side went in at the break ahead after Tolan's opening goal yet were back on level terms on 55 minutes.
Friel, recalled by manager John Gregg, spun Coleraine's Kyle McVey and drilled low into the bottom right corner of reserve goalkeeper Laurence McCormick's net.
Coleraine pushed forward with the industrious Tommons at the heart of the home side's midfield.
His header was the result of an error by keeper Cullen from a Darren Boyce free-kick and that goal, coupled with Patterson's late strike, showed the Bannsiders' clinical edge in front of goal that gave them a deserved three points.
