Michael Gault's strike is enough to give Linfield the three points against Dungannon
A 35th minute goal by Michael Gault gave Linfield a 1-0 win over high-flying Dungannon at Windsor Park.
Mark McAllister struck the post early on while Paul Munster twice went close with headers and missed from six yards.
Gault accepted a lay-off from Munster and sidefooted the ball into the net and then before half-time Munster saw his shot bounce off the post.
Timmy Adamson's fierce 51st minute drive struck the post and Alan Blayney saved Neil McCafferty's late free-kick.
McAllister was unlucky when his shot hit the woodwork in the second minute and two minutes later Munster found the net after a goalmouth scramble but he was penalised for an apparent handball.
The Blues continued their impressive start when Munster's header from a JP Gallagher free-kick seemed to be heading into the back of the net but instead struck the back of a Swifts defender.
Munster's next header from Jim Ervin's cross was also not far away.
The forward missed a great chance and was then one-on-one with Rouse, only to see his effort come off the woodwork.
Adamson almost equalised and Blayney was alert to push McCafferty's late effort round the post.
