Portadown secure their first league win of the season with a 6-1 hammering of bottom club Lisburn Distillery.

Portadown secured their first league win of the season and heaped further misery on basement club Lisburn Distillery with a thumping 6-1 success.

A Davy McAlinden own goal put the Ports ahead on six minutes and Kevin Braniff touched the ball home at the near post in the 40th minute to make it 2-0.

Wesley Boyle drilled in the third on 53 but Glenn Ferguson tapped in on 57.

Stuart Thompson scored an own goal on 81, Gary McCutcheon netted on 90 and David McCullough fired home after 91.

The opening goal came during a goalmouth scramble after Braniff had fired the ball into the box.

Neil Teggart and Darren Kelly had attempts at forcing the ball in but it was defender McAlinden, lying on the ground, who got the last touch as he attempted to hook the ball clear.

Glenn Ferguson shot over the bar twice and Andy Kilmartin fired wide while, at the other end, Braniff dragged a shot wide and had a shot well saved.

Distillery's Gavin Whelan saw his free-kick fly just wide of the post before Braniff popped up at the near post to touch the ball past Paul Murphy after good work by Ryan McCluskey.

Boyle shot wide before the break but made amends when he found space in the area and drilled a low shot into the net after the ball fell kindly to him.

Ferguson pounced to score from the rebound after his header cannoned off the bar and then the unfortunate Thompson, a Whites' substitute, headed past his own goalkeeper under pressure from McCutcheon.

McCutcheon drove home a low shot in the final minute and McCullough forced his way through to fire in the sixth in the first minute of added time.
