Linfield earn their first Carling Premiership win of the season as they defeat Glenavon at Windsor Park
Linfield secured a resounding 4-1 win over Glenavon at Windsor Park to record their first league success of the term.
Mark McAllister found the net in the sixth minute and then Michael Carvill fired into the bottom right-hand corner on 24 minutes to make it 2-0.
Jim Ervin headed past Tuda Murphy in the 41st minute after McAllister set up the defender, then James Costello lobbed Alan Blayney in the 61st minute.
Philip Lowry headed in from a Damian Curran corner at the near post on 89.
Jamie Tomelty and Carvill played their part in the flowing Linfield move which resulted in the Blues' opening goal.
The Lurgan Blues had Gary Liggett sent-off on 78 minutes soon after the forward had entered the fray as a substitute.
