Cliftonville midfielder Barry Johnston has joined Shamrock Rovers on a short-term loan deal.
The 28-year-old will remain with the Tallaght outfit until the end of the League of Ireland season in December.
Rovers will then have the option to sign Johnston on a permanent basis for an agreed fee.
"Barry has been a fantastic servant to Cliftonville and goes with our best wishes to follow his dream," said Chairman Gerard Lawlor.
"I wish him all the best whatever the future holds. The last few months have been difficult for all parties, but hopefully we have found a solution to suit everyone."
Lisburn Distillery and Newry City were also believed to be in the hunt for the transfer-listed player.
