Linfield have won the race to sign Curtis Allen with the young striker joining the Blues in a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old former Bournemouth player was also a target for English clubs after he decided to leave Lisburn Distillery last month.
"I just thought at the minute a move across the water wasn't the right move," Allen told the Linfield website.
"I wanted to play for the biggest club in Ireland and help Linfield win the league back."
He added: "I had a lot of offers on the table and I suppose my head was all over the place with the constant talking to clubs about signing.
"I want to play a part in bringing success to this club. That's why I'm here. I'm here to score goals. I just want to help the team win every week."
Allen evoked a clause in his contract which allowed him to leave the Whites.
He starred for Distillery last season with his 25 goals helping the side to fourth place in the Premiership.
Blues boss David Jeffrey is delighted to have Allen in his Windsor Park squad.
"He's very much a team man and that certainly fits the ethos here at Linfield," he said.
"What was also pleasing was that he signed for us despite there also being interest from a number of other clubs.
"I'm really excited and pleased with this signing. The most pleasing factor is that for footballing reasons, this is where he wanted to come."
Jeffrey added that Allen, who will fill the void left by Glenn Ferguson's switch to Distillery, will be the club's last signing of the summer.
