Philip Lowry is on his way from Drumahoe to Windsor Park

Linfield have signed Institute's highly-rated midfielder Philip Lowry on a three-year part-time contract.

The Limavady-based Northern Ireland Under-21 international had attracted interest from English clubs Leicester City, Norwich City and QPR.

There was also speculation that he would join newly-crowned JJB Sports Premiership champions Glentoran when his Institute contract expired.

Meanwhile, Linfield's Paul McAreavey is set to leave Windsor Park.

McAreavey, whose Linfield contract expires at the end of May, is reported to have held talks with Ballymena United, Lisburn Distillery and League of Ireland club Dundalk.
