Teenager Philip Lowry has impressed for Institute this season
Coleraine are on the trail of Institute midfielder Philip Lowry.
Several cross-channel clubs are also interested in the Northern Ireland U21 but the Bannsiders have made a tentative approach for the player.
However, Stute boss John Gregg said he is hoping to keep the 19-year-old at Drumahoe until at least the end of the season, when his contract expires.
"I wouldn't want to sell him unless we receive a substantial offer - 2,000 or 3,000 in my opinion won't be enough."
Coleraine chairman Hugh Wade has talked to his Institute counterpart Billy Gillard about the player who trained with both Leicester and Norwich City last summer.
Showgrounds manager David Platt admits he is an admirer of the Limavady man: "Philip is a fantastic player and one I'd love to have at our club.
"We've made an inquiry about his availability but it is all very much in the early stages at present.
"To be honest he's a player who should already be here, but we didn't follow up our interest a couple of years ago when he was leaving Limavady.
"He has developed into a very good player and he has a very good future ahead of him."
Derry City manager Stephen Kenny is also known to be keen on Lowry.
