FA Cup finalists set for Milk Cup

Milk Cup

FA Cup finalists Chelsea and Everton will not only be battling it out at Wembley but also at this summer's Northern Ireland Milk Cup.

Both clubs have confirmed their involvement with Everton boss David Moyes keen to see his side retain the Junior title.

Chelsea are chasing a first success since they started coming in 2005.

Bulgaria will be a newcomer in the Elite section while Watford will be making a return to the north coast.

The Toffees, with striker Hallam Hope a hat-trick hero, beat Wolves 3-2 last year and Moyes, whose late mother was from the Portrush area, had no hesitation in agreeing to let the club return in July.

Moyes brought an Everton side to play a Northern Ireland Select at Coleraine Showgrounds two years ago as part of the Milk Cup's 25th anniversary celebrations.

Chelsea, whose involvement goes back to Carnlough man Brendan Rodgers' time at Stamford Bridge, reached the Premier final in their debut year only to lose to Barcelona.

Rodgers, now manager at Watford, will be interested in how the Hornets progress at the competition this year. They will also be in the draw at W5 in Belfast's Odyssey on 28 May.

Bulgaria will join holders Northern Ireland, Israel, Denmark and the USA in the Elite section - a sixth team will be revealed at the draw.
