Crusaders have suffered a major blow with the news that captain Colin Coates will be sidelined for eight weeks after breaking his collar bone on Saturday.

The influential defender fell awkwardly during the 1-1 league draw at Glentoran and came off at half-time.

"I heard the crack and knew it was bad," Coates told the News Letter.

"Hopefully, I'm able to resume training in three or four weeks and my aim is to get back for the last three or four games of the season."
