Former Southampton keeper Alan Blayney could be on the move
Linfield manager David Jeffrey hopes to add at least three new players to his squad in the January transfer window.
Jeffrey has contacted Ballymena United to register his interest in goalkeeper Alan Blayney and striker Neil Teggart.
Martin Donnelly is another target and Jeffrey has held preliminary talks with the Crusaders winger.
However, Linfield will not be signing Lisburn Distillery forward Gary Browne after they informed the Whites that their pursuit of the player had ended.
Blayney is seen as a possible replacement for Alan Mannus, who has made clear his desire for a move to England or Scotland.
Northern Ireland keeper Mannus has told Linfield that he wants to keep his options open - his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a switch to Scottish Premier League club Motherwell.
Sky Blues forward Teggart is currently sidelined with a stomach muscle injury.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey has recalled Ryan McLoughlin and Gary Thompson from their loan spell with Larne.
